'We spent all week working on destroying Bristol Rovers' diamond formation' says Gareth Ainsworth Credit to Wycombe for doing their homework but sounds like a game where both were more worried about the other. Easy to say after the event. He would say that wouldn't he? Easy words to please own fans and possible elements of truth, but whom (Rovers fans) would have picked that midfield before the event? If the hit post would've gone in, Wycombe couldn't credibly say the same, so Ainsworth playing the straight bat to an easy ball question.

If we could all keep quoting the full OP that would be great I've told the buggers before but they don't listen.

Not sure you can blame the admittedly poor attendance on GC's lack of creative signings. For the vast majority, this was the first chance to even see his new boys, and judgements can be made about how good they might be after we've watched them, not before.
I think the crowds stayed away because of the forecast heavy rain, 50mph winds, and of course the Balloon Festival.
The fact that none of the above actually happened is unfortunate.

We done well defensively because we had 1 attacking player on the pitch,if it continues like this gc will be gone by Xmas if the owners actually care Hopefully we will have new owners soon and they will bring in something worth watch,gc has has long enough to bring in creative players and can’t blame the budget I’ve seen better midfielders in the conference Ollie Clarke and Sercombe should be told to step up their game or F off,Clarke is so slow on the ball and only plays cause he is captain If we don’t bring 2 decent midfielders in this month we will be lucky to stay up We might be lucky again this year cause of Bolton and bury So you expect GC to bring in more players without anyone going? dreamland. This year he has bought in mainly defensive players because good teams are built from the back. Next season more contracts are up, namely Nicholls; Sercombe; Upson; Bennett; Mathews; Reilly; Rodman; and Mensah and Rollin. I can see at lest 6 of these going, thus creating the cash for 4 better players

The fact that anyone expected a better Rovers performance based on the squad we have is rather curious. I'm not to worried about that as we have had squads over the decades that, on paper, were possibly not as good as the current squad but what we don't have, and I honestly hate putting GC down as I've met him and he seems an honest guy, is a manager who has the skills to make this squad the best they can be.
I know it's only 2 games in and I sincerely hope that I am proven wrong

The balloon festival was on and weather was pretty crap last year vs Accy at home but still manager an attendance just under 8700.

Ollie Clarke had, in my opinion, probably, if not close to it, his worst ever game in the quarters.
SerCombe is not a wide player and needs bringing inside with Upson or Clarke dropped.
I thought Leahy and Hare did well and the goalkeeper was nervous early on which was to be expected in the windy conditions.
Nicholls isn’t a L1 player, can’t head, can’t shoot and can’t hold the ball up. Victor and JCH will be the ideal partnership with TN hopefully out on loan to someone like FGR or swindon

Easy to destroy our midfield, just stand around for 2 seconds and wait for them to pass the ball to you or kick it out of play.

I still don't believe that people stayed away because of new signings that no-one has even seen. Perhaps it's just a sign that people think we are now heading backwards under the uninspiring leadership from the current owners.

Without the wind the game would been a fantastic spectacle with upson making surging forward runs and ogogo and ollie clarke spraying 40 yard cross field passes not to mention tom nichols banging a couple of goals into the net,the wind played hell with his finishing.
