Yep! Overweight being the most salient observation. I can’t believe it was the same player who destroyed us in the cup at Ashton gate. Mind you he was surrounded by one of the worst Rovers sides ever. Even Messi would have struggled. In fact wasn’t Matthews strike partner Adrian Coote for a game or two? Two absolutely useless lumps with no pace up front. God alive, I don’t feel so bad about our current situation now after being reminded of that! Matthews was too busy watering it up at various nightclubs around Bristol, much like Simon Bryant. Didn’t know that, interesting....so that’s how he got his ‘impressive physique’

Don’t care where he’s from - if he’s got pace and would give us a different dimension to our attack, get him in.
We don’t seem to be in a position to be too fussy, unfortunately.

I thought there was a gentleman's agreement between the two clubs not to do business with eachother again after Snakegake?

If he's going to improve the squad, then I works be all for it. I hate them, but if we turned it down, just because he plays for them. We would be losing out. What if it was a loan, with a view to a permanent in January,I would definitely be keen. As long as terms were agreed in advance, so they couldn't screw us, if he did well. Rubbish. Its an insult to us fans and our club. We have been this route before with Lee Matthews and Im sure someone else who's name escapes me right now. They are a better club right now,we know this and most except it.But they are not Barcelona,Real Madrid etc.. and taking loans off them as our closest rival is an insult and an embarrassment. Its like going balls deep in your best mates ex wife, and a line that should never be crossed! If we have anything to do with any transfer deals with them again be it loans or permanent deals after the snake deal I will be watered off..

Strange rumour that one when I know for a fact that Simon suffered from severe arthritis from a young age and was not allowed to drink alcohol because of his medication.another urban myth about him drinking when he only ever drank non alcoholic drinks

Bringing a C**y player on board and helping them to develop their game, whilst blocking the progress of one of our own lads is pretty much as absurd as it gets. Usually I would agree, but we don’t have any young wingers who are anywhere near ready for that. We need a winger in, if temporarily just to keep us away from danger this season until we can get to next summer and offload all our high earners/low performers. This lad was very good at this level for Scunthorpe, so if he’s available I’d take him in a heartbeat.

It could be the difference between staying up and going down.
We're clearly struggling to bring in the attacking midfielders we so desperately need so I don't think we can afford to be fussy.

Adelakun could be a decent signing.

What rubbish, I hear on here. If it makes us better and gives us an improved chance of being in the same league as them get him in. Small mindedness never gets you anywhere

I wonder if Mansfield fans would say the same about developing Forest’s Tyler Walker last year who scored 22 league goals and nearly fired them to promotion? Obviously if we’ve got young lads who are just as good then we wouldn’t want to halt their progress by bringing someone in, but if they improve our current side then why not? That’s just how the loan system works.

A better analogy would be derby borrowing forest player.

More hilarious comments on this thread now! Yes, I'd rather not have a Sh*thead playing for us, but if he's half decent, and can get the ball into the strikers, which is something we don't have at the moment, then get him in. UTG

If he can help us in an area we’re struggling in? Of course we get him in, presuming he has a good attitude. Some crazy comments on here. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

It's just a job.
Most players couldn't give a f**k about which team they play for as long as they are getting game time, being paid and are matching their career expectations.
Marcus Stewart was a city fan was he not?
Have a word with yourselves you bunch of roasters.
