Hopefully many of you will remember my project to collect and publish the marvellous away game memories of us Gasheads and Pirates. Well, the book is NOW OUT. ‘Away The Gas’ let’s you wallow in over 50 years of ‘I was there’ moments, from Halifax Town in 1963 to Pompey in 2014, and shows why we cherish away days so much. Full details are on the website - www.awaythegas.org.uk - including a good look inside the book (cover pages, contents, introduction, 3 photo pages, and 9 text pages). You can also purchase a copy there. I hope you like it. Martin Details -
- 240 pages of funny, poignant and emotional short stories and tall tales, all written by loyal Gasheads and Pirates just like you and I.
- PLUS 16 pages of colour photos, and several B&W photos dotted throughout the book.
- Family Friendly? Certainly.
- Hokey Cokey? Yes, that’s what it’s all about…
- I always try to use the books I publish to help others as well. In March 2013 Nathanael Hornby, a 25 year old Gashead, sadly passed away after a battle with a brain tumour. 10% of any profits from the book will therefore be donated in his honour to The Brain Tumour Charity (registered charity #1150054).
- Available to purchase here

GUFFAW! GUFFAW! Now that's innuendo, Hugo. We're all going down together. This book will be on my Christmas list too. Which means I'm bound to get it, as no-one ever knows what the hell to get me.

I didn't even notice it as I was looking at what the text said rather than what it looked like. actually sorted it myself and looks very different (and better overall) now, so I'm actually glad I had to take a look at it

Thank you Martin,my copy arrived yesterday and certainly it looks like you've done a champion job.Must say I have only got into the first twenty pages and I keep stopping to say to myself thats right I remember that too.
We have mentioned my connections previously with Madgeski and Maxwell at the Mirror and interestingly I see your connection with T U InK. Far beit for me to namedrop but I've known the Chairman there David Evans right from when he set up Centurion Press through to his elevation to Lord Evans of Watford for his services to the trade unions.
Coincidently, my son Roadman and I will be inviting his main print buyer at TU Ink, who is a Barnet fan, to the up and coming Tuesday night game in November.
In closing Martin, your book is a testament to modest yet glorious times for we who have followed the club through thick and thin and if the Board and it's players were half as good as the fans we would not be languishing in the mire we now find ourselves in.
Anyone who wants to be reminded of the camaraderie and good times should buy it.Hope it sells well!

Is it good toilet reading fodder?
I like books you can leave in the lav and just dip into on the plop.
