Very good player, the last two games have been against very different teams in the way they attacked. He has played well in both, as has the other two CB's. I still get him and Davies mixed up at times, bloody eyesight.

Dont be daft. Tom WAS a great player for us, good to see the same potential in this lad. I say enjoy it whilst we can, if he carries on like this I agree with a previous post on this thread, destined for higher levels. Two other centre backs played well for rovers today as well. Sorry, why can't we make the thread just about Kilgour

Fantastic to see a local lad in the team and doing really well, we need more to come through. Similarities to Tom Lockyer are natural but Tom made 255 games and Alfie is just starting out. The lesson to be learned perhaps is when we have quality young players we need to cash in at the right time not let them drift out on a free. 500k for Tom a year earlier would have been good business. But for now we can enjoy watching Alfie develop into a top talent

Very impressed, a young man mature beyond his years. This lad could go a long way in this game, I'd take £50 million plus Harry Maguire from Man United in January.

All I was saying is we recieved no money for locks and Kilgour has filled his boots very well and in my opinion has a better footballing brain than locks and he’s come through the ranks to do so. Locks was a great player for us but I’m already seeing Alfie has strengths where locks had blatant weaknesses again in my opinion as this is what this forum is all about

The fact we got no money for Lockyer has now passed me by because we have a complete centre back in Kilgour.. How refreshing is it to see him get the ball to feet and knocking balls around the pitch like a championship player and he’s only going to get better. I love seeing him in our back four and to me an upgrade from locks, Let’s hope he goes from strength to strength and we keep for a while. You've seen him play in a back 4?

Alfie is like a new signing
Lad’s doing well, old head on young shoulders, a lot of maturity in his game.

What I like about Alfie is that he wants the ball. Just after his 2 iffy passes first half, he was the first player looking for a short throw out from Jaaakola. He wants to play a passing game - I hope Gasheads don't give him too much stick if his passing is occasionally off target.

I think he is a "hard" player like Craig, you know nothing hurts them very much

Looks to me like a better player then Lockyer. TC has clearly been a creat mentor to him, and the 3 CBs have all been fantastic so far this season. The level he is at now he could be the absolute pick of the bunch from our recent academy breakthroughs. (Hopefully I’m not speaking too soon)

Credit GC for trusting Alfie, could go on to do great things in the game, nothing beats seeing a young lad come through think GC will encourage one or two more this season to, meanwhile Tom getting rave reviews from Charlton fans, tempered with 'superb defending and last ditch tackles, rescuing the situation sometimes caused by his own mistakes!' Alfie in a class above as a footballer.

Alfie is like a new signing Lad’s doing well, old head on young shoulders, a lot of maturity in his game. He does indeed look like a new signing. He got lost a couple of times during his debut at Plymouth last season but looks to have been working hard over the summer and looks like a regular and mature defender for this level. Problem is, if he keeps this up, he will end up with a lot of championship clubs sniffing around him in the not to distance future!

IMO, good player, a huge potential, although at the moment very much work in progress, as proved last night, when he was caught in possession when attempting a difficult a second touch pass, which should have been moved on first time, which once he was caught out inevitably lead to BHA first goal. He will learn from that and move on.

Just signed a new contract 👏 Concur with Gassy, excellent news! To have replaced one home grown talent at CB with another is fantastic for us. Well done Alfie and long may you represent the Gas with distinction!
