Doing really well for us but I’m not convinced he’s championship standard just yet. Just because because a player is doing well in league 1 is doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll lose him or that he’s good enough for the division above. If a championship club does come in for him then our board need to say he’s not for sale in the hope that they either water off or offer big money. Like many clubs in league 1 do. We need to stop being a soft touch when it comes to losing our best players.

Could he swap names with Tom Nicholls? 😊

We have a "half club". The new manager has half the player left over from the old manager. I had this debate on Saturday at half time and everyone agreed that the players Coughlin have brought in are basically better than those that left. However with Nichols, Bennet, Rodman and a few others still here it does tie the hands of Coughlin as to who else he could bring in. I know Nichols has already scored more than he has done for the previous 2 seasons, but we can and should have someone better to play alongside JCH. We lost Lockyer, but we have found a good replacement. Bennett, to small, too slow and probably paid too much. Mathews another from the cast of Lockyer and the 10 dwarfs. Cannot see him, or Mensah playing again, but they are taking up the wages. Regarding Clark and the captaincy, I don't think it is doing him any good, but in all honesty who else would you give it too?

Natural leaders rally the troops and say the right things at the right time. Tony Craig is one of those players , he could wear the arm band but what difference would that make ? Olly Clarke has been at the club since he was a kid , he’s bristolian and knows Bristol Rovers better than anyone so that’s good enough reason for him to wear the armband. In most countries they don’t make a big thing about the captains armband like they do over here. In my team I’m not captain but being one of the most experienced players I still take on the role of captain naturally because there’s lads on the team who are young enough to be my son. The armband really doesn’t matter. Leaders are leaders they don’t stop being that because they haven’t got an armband saying captain on.

I said it about Lockyer last season and I'll say the same about Ollie this - he should/could be Club Captain where he does the good stuff representing the club off the field of play, but match Captain should be Craig for the reasons given by Socrates; he is a leader and organiser.

Yes agreed although going back to my point about the armband , if Craig does that anyway then what difference does it make. I doubt any. I can’t see big Tone keeping quiet if he feels there’s something to say just because he’s not wearing a bit of elastic around his arm.

True, just makes it official and gives him the authorised responsibility to deal with any issues on field if requested to by the Ref Most of our on the field issues with the ref tend to involve olly anyway the way he picks up cards, not knocking him he’s Gas through and through and gets stuck in , if he didn’t he wouldn’t have made it at this level because ability wise he’s not the best midfielder but he chips in with the odd big tackle the odd amazing goal and leads with his heart and always gives 100% He’s an all rounder isn’t he. If we had a creative midfielder who did the pretty work for the likes of olly upson and agogo then those three would look better and we’d be better as a team in my opinion. We were excellent in our league 2 promotion season playing 4-4-2 with lines and olly as our two central midfielders. I think olly misses having that ball player in there alongside him.

I thought Accrington were pretty decent to be fair and they did have more quality in the centre of the park than Rovers did.
On a more positive note I am beginning to think that we have got a quality player in JCH. When you compare his strengths with the snake I know who I would rather have leading the forward line.
If anyone can keep Rovers in this division then for me it’s JCH.
I just hope that some Championship side doesn’t come in with a £5 million bid in January.

You know what tossers we are, we would snap someone’s hand off for £2 million possibly even less! No doubt if he was a Peterborough player they would get between £5 - £10 million for him.
