Due to our squad size, quite a few have played when not fully fit or even playing through the pain barrier - Clarke, Little etc.
At a bigger club with a better and bigger squad JCH would have longer to rest and recover.

If we are in the mix he ll stay GC has got the best of of him, where other managers have failed. He will go at some stage but I think we have never seen him 100 of cent fit, when that happens he will be even better. Tend to agree. If the club gets an offer in January that reflects his value he will be sold. The money would be very useful in offsetting some operating costs. GC would get a few bob to find another miracle striker. IMO if JCH does stay beyond January he'll be off in the summer to a higher placed club. Can't blame him for going. His status in the game has been greatly enhanced at Rovers and his goal per game ratio is attractive. There is one potential problem. His fitness may be a concern to prospective buyers. He has missed a lot of games this season and has looked somewhat laboured for many of the games he has played. JCH's so unfit he played a part in all our 4 goals on Saturday, that after playing 2 more games in 6 days, if JCH was carrying an kind of geninue injury he would have been rested for the Orient game.

Another thing to take into account is prize money from cup runs. Let's say we win round 2 & 3 ( difficult I know ) that;s another £200 k plus round 1 prize money : T.V deals and attendances. We could be looking at £300k plus getting to round 4. Also we made £65k so far in old J.P.T cup and another £50k a win from round 3 on. Any lower league club with ' un-budgeted ' extra money can inflate fee's for players. If we suddenly have £500k coming in January for cup runs. We can say to clubs " We want more money ". A good cup run can also make it more attractive to keep players. I think he's probably off in January but I would want £2 million plus ( un-budgeted money ) as opposed to £1 million plus. A good cup run will focus attention on our club !. Anything else than £2m and we're giving him away, what other League 1 side would sell a 20 goal a season striker for £1m when they are challenging for a top 6 space, possibly top 2 in January? Sunderland paid £4m for Grigg last January, Pompey £2m for Marquis this summer.

52% of votes on this poll says leave. Where have we heard that before? Im not happy with this result so I think we should have a 2nd vote This could be really good news. In three years time we'll be thinking of leaving Europe early in the New Year, I for one will be happy with last 16 in our first Champions League season, JCH goes then for £80 million to the newly formed Qatary Super League.

From his point of view though surely moving suits him better? If he ends up in the Championship with us then great for us, but not much more money for him at a guess. Move and it’ll be far better financially. he is not good enough for the championship imo Massive step up and he’s no Roberts, hayles or Stewart His goals per game ratio suggests otherwise. It's better than all 3 of those players.

He will go at some stage but I think we have never seen him 100 of cent fit, when that happens he will be even better. Agree, I think that’s pretty much it. He will go eventually and if he was in the last year of his contract I’d agree but there’s a few more to go. If we are in with a serious chance of going up I think he’ll stay and then see what will happen. Then if we stay put the owners will probably decide to cash in. Football is a pretty small world and most will know what happened to MT. He went to the dark side, sat on the bench, was vilified and his life, finances apart, must have been uncomfortable for those two and a half years. Fans look at him and will have their views about him but I bet he will have lost lots of respect which he’s only now recovering. Perhaps you may say “so what he’ll be happy with the money” and you may be right but I’m not so sure. I think JCH likes being the top dog, seems happy in the team and has a good relationship with the fans and having been in many other places he may appreciate being in a club which seems to suit him. Time will tell but I think he’ll stay, this window at least. UTG!

I hope GC has got targets in mind of a similar type player because with Jono we’re a top six side and without him we’re mid table. Adeboyjo looks like a targetman but doesn’t play like one.

Spoke to him personally and he told me he’ll sign the contract extension but expects to be sold in January, doesn’t necessarily want to leave but will not turn down the chance of more money at a championship club, it’s a big opportunity for him and his family
One interesting thing is he said he thinks we want to sell him

Onwards and upwards m One thing that may be an important factor tho is this conversation I had with him was before his injury.. that injury may play a part in the amount of interest shown in him. And since then he’s done an interview stating that Bristol Rovers is the club where things have just clicked for him more than anywhere else. Plus I have spoke personally to him many times since he’s played for us and he’s always described GC as a friend.. not just a manager, a friend. So there may be hope yet who knows

I have no idea whether is is likely to move (certainly not ITK!!) but I feel he would be foolish to do so. As others wrote, GC has got the best out of him and he is doing very well. It doesn't mean that form would continue elsewhere, at a different club...new manager...new players etc. Ellis at Ipswich is a case in point. Yes, he would no doubt get more money, but from a footballing point of view I would hope he would commit to the end of the season and finish this seasons excellent work with us. Then of course we could offer him a substantial pay rise for our first season back in the Championship

What good would that do JCH or his agent? We've just seen Locks run his contract down and walk away on a free, I can't imagine another player is now going to sign a new contract in December just so we can get a bit more in January, those days have long gone.
