Years ago when we were in L2 I used to travel miles to see Ricky Lambert. He stood out as a striker and at the time I said England should play him (Emile Heskey) was centre forward then. JCH is the best L1 striker I have seen for us and for any other club for some time. His work rate is incredible for someone who is not 100% fit. His reading of the game is superb. His ball shielding skills stand out. His scoring record is second to none. I think he is worth at least £5M to us and should not be sold for less than £7M with a buy back clause plus any onward profit sale. His current worth in the market is around £2.3M? Hopefully we don’t sell him; love watching him and Zi think he loves playing for us. We don’t syy to op our players progressing so .... PS It’s time he scored a hat trick for us? UTG He already has scored a hat trick for us :Blackpool: 7m Rovers? Keep taking the tablets. By the way Yaz - The only way is up!

Well, Sunderland have already put it in the public domain that they want him but at 600K Where did you see this?? Sure that’s just a tester amount to gage our reaction, the worrying thing is it means bids are definitely coming Of course bids are coming. JCH is a top scorer but he also does so much more. If he were at Sunderland, Peterborough or Ipswich Championship clubs would bid. It's just that he's at Rovers and clubs will think they can nick him cheap so the bids will reflect that. It now depends on how hard-nosed the owners are. We'd better hope that Tommy has someone lined up. We also ought to buy that player first, because if any potential selling club knows we just banked a substantial sum they'll up their asking price.

Does anyone know why he spends the whole game hobbling around and falling over? If he was an opponent we would boo him for his antics. He has been a fine player for us but what is the other stuff about? I wonder if being one of the most fouled players in League One has anything to do with it?

I know if I was an opposing supporter he'd frustrate me. However, that's only because he's clever enough to run across defenders or change direction/pace to force the foul. Works for Vardy

It's interesting how the fortunes of two strikers have really fluctuated during their time at Rovers.
One (TN) came following a fee of £350K and has had a truly miserable time scoring less than a handful of goals in three years.
The other (JCH) came on a free and has performed magnificently (when fit).
The first is virtually worthless as a transfer asset; the second has been valued by another poster at £7million (wishful thinking me think).
Funny old game .....

Which is why when people mock us for having a 30 odd year old transfer record or say why aren’t we splashing £500k on a X player and neglect to look at or forget that most of the the great Rovers players we have had either we gotten for nothing or paid a nominal fee for and developed them into much better players when they have left. There is no guarantees a fee determines success and often with the price tag comes an unwanted pressure to do well which can have an adverse affect.

Part of a swap deal with Charlie Wyke ?
Now that would divide opinion.

Best performance this season was at Shrewsbury without JCH which is slightly comforting. We scored four!!!!! Think our season will depend on the Jan moves.Benno defo on his way as doesn't even make the bench now.

Currently Bristol Rovers' only registered recognised striker, madness if rumours of the club trying to sell him are true.

He can go in January for £300k and not a penny more.

All I have seen is various reports of Championship clubs interested in him and obviously that will be the case considering his record since last January.

Dare I say if we sold JCH for £1.5m, the Ellis money came in, the little FA Cup run with TV money & the leasing trophy cup run - we might be close to breaking even this season?
