Sorry to hear this news and sorry that he didn’t get to see us play in our new stadium if it ever happens. Had a few run ins with him on here but the one thing that truly binds us all is the love we have for our club . R.I.P.

Sad news. I didn’t know him but some of his posts on here really got debate going, good or bad, but you could always sense his passion for the club. Condolences to family & friends. RIP

Only ever met him once but he was a decent sort.
As much as some found his posts frustrating at times, he will definitely be missed.

Sad to say I have just been informed that Dave passed away this morning. It goes without saying that he was a devoted gashead of many years standing, and will be missed by those of us who knew him. For anyone who may wish to attend the funeral, I will endeavour to put the arrangements on here as soon as I know them. I've met and chatted with Severncider on two occasions, the last being the development squad GFA cup game at Bristol Manor Farm. I was shocked to see that he was using a motobility scooter to get around as the last time I saw him, at Sunderland, he was able to walk, albeit with some difficulty. I formed the opinion he was an extremely pleasant older gentleman, who's passion for Rovers couldn't be doubted. I don't know how ITK he was, but he seemed to think we're on the brink of some momentous news and if it comes to pass, it will be a huge shame he won't be around to see it all happen. If you could publish funeral details in due course I would be grateful, as I would like to pay my respects if work permits. RIP old chap. I hope your vision comes true. |

RIP Dave, extremely sad news. Obviously loved the gas and I always enjoyed his reports on the development games that he went to.
