A very good second half performance by the Gas , got to say I’m surprised at how poor Chelsea were I expected better from one of the big six -23s. They're U21s so more young and inexperienced than U23s when the format first changed. They still had their chances though. I put u23 on my betting slip, You think I’ll get my money back. Nooooooo. lady garden comp F##k it off.

Yes... I knew most of them. Lots of faces from the Eastville days. Oh and Paul from the supporters club shop.

Decent game and deserved win. Thought the back 3 including menayese mostly did well and rodman was lively.

5 match unbeaten run - good way to go into the Rotherham game Saturday. See that as a winnable game with way we are currently playing and fact Rotherham aren’t firing on all cylinders at the mo

Looks like a positive bit of practice for some of the guys out of contention. Anybody look as though they deserve another chance?
Saw Moore was on the bunch, any minutes for him?

Moore and tomlinson came on in the last 10 minutes but didnt really have a chance to impress. The dutch keeper made some good saves and menayese had a decent game in the back 3. Bennett had a poor 1st half but did well in the 2nd. Kelly played left wing back and gifted chelsea their goal with a dreadful back pass but stuck at it and improved as the game went on. All opinions of course.

The only positive from these games is being able to give the fringe players some game time.
Its still annoying that rules dictate that we have to play so many first team player's when the big clubs can make as many changes as they wont in the league and FA coups. Having said that, we don't exactly have that much cover at the back anyway. It looks like Menayese is a capable back up option at least but I would be worried if anyone picks up an injury.

Fully enjoyed the game last night, impressed with Menayese and would have no worries about him as cover. Kelly was exposed to much due to his lack of pace. Sercs is getting better.
Tom Davies is a natural leader and was barking out orders all night and was helping young Alfie out alot. I just hope we got Alfie on a good contract because he was outstanding again last night
Bennett i would pay off now, still no end product
Stand out player was Chelski's No 48 - would have him on loan no problems. Right back with loads of pace and skill and gave Kelly a right old run around

Could do a job on loan for us and would give us creativity in the middle of the pitch.

It was nice to see Sercombe in his natural position, central midfield. He started to run the show, as the Chelsea youngsters tired. Bennett did ok second half, ( probably for the same reason that Secombe did ) but against a fit League 1 side? I wouldn`t bother with him.

He had blistering pace ang he destroyed Kelly on a couple of occasions, and he didn't seem to slow oh tire. I didn't think Menayese looked like hat good, but there you go! Agree about Bennett, if he's on 4K then we've been had over with jam and cream. We should contact Swindle with an offer for January and pay the money saved to a JCH Davies and Alfie.

I do think Kelly still contributed a lot despite 48 and their goal. I thought he showed a lot of character.

If Bennett has no end product then why was he the only player to really test the Chelsea goalie from distance, with his shots leading directly to our goals. I thought Sercs had a shocker for such an experienced player, although at least he was in the right position to score his tap in.

Anyone notice GC approach 18 year old George McEachran (the England u17 World Cup winner) as they left the pitch he gave him a pat on the back and a smile with a few words. Paraphrasing I think he said see you in preseason (with a little help from Wael of course)

Good to see Sercs playing better.Key player when firing on all cylinders. Yeah I thought he had a good game last night. Nobody had a bad one to be fair, even Kelly played alright after the error.
