I saw this on the Facebook group and its true what people are saying.... You can't display it or sell it on as you'll be immediately identified as a crook....
Just hope the person does the right thing and return it, even if anonymously....

I suspect by now it’s been binned as they’ve have sh*t them self, a replacement is being ordered on Monday and I’ll get in touch with Rickie to see if he can sign it again. Feel sorry for John as he does a lot for the club and doesn’t deserve this, as it stands we are £65 down already UTG

That's really sh**. I know we've all been drunk and taken a "momento" from a bar or whatever (90's, student and traffic cone come to mind) but never your local!
And this isn't just a branded pint glass or an ashtray, something of sentimental that is potentially irreplaceable (and that's to say potentially as I'd like to think Rickie would sign a new one) but that's not the point.
As said, be nice for them to have a change of heart and return it.

Think John has resigned himself to it not coming back now hence ordering a new one, Rickie will sigh it 100% the blokes a diamond it’s just arranging a meet with him to do it, £65 of the target raised already so hopefully we make it pretty sharpish

If memory serves me, I’m sure certain items of Rovers kit were stolen from the changing rooms, during last years event? And now a rather expensive Rovers flag this time around?
Two bouts of theft (presumably from different individuals/groups) two years on the bounce, from what you would presume is the club these people support.
Words almost fail me.

The first year I organised the charity event in 2017 we had some kit stolen, it was all recovered though by myself after a tip off to who had taken it. This flag is a completely different scenario, John Kayes uses funds he raises all year rounds to give us these nice to haves at the club, the flag was stolen during the week from the supporters club bar. Luckily enough has been raised to replace it.

It’s sad that people actually steal anyway without stealing from your own club.
