According to that article their Burton game is now November 26th, and the Fleetwood game date is yet to be set. If ours is also off then I can't see it being rearranged for anytime before mid/late January. Reading of their woes, I hope it goes ahead, I think.

I'm given to understand that their present number one keeper is injured and will possibly be not fit for the game against us. McLaughlin is their Scottish international who recently lost his place and if called up by Scotland they will only have a youth keeper available for our game.

We will be missing Jaakkola I would imagine and, if JCH isn't fully fit, and possibly one or two others still struggling or even suspended - then perhaps it would be best called off, although Sunderland are not playing that well themselves at the moment. The downside of that of course is that Sunderland have just had ~£10m invested by their new owners and if we play them after the January window opens they will be stronger, and we might have lost JCH anyway. JCH might be playing for Sunderland then 🥴

Plenty of doom and gloom merchants out I see. He’s under contract to us and can’t move till Jan window - if he does of course

They may not want another fixture called off, as they'll start to pile up, and may dent any potential promotion push later in the season.

You would think that the FA would schedule FA cup rounds to coincide with international weekends, where many teams like Sunderland would be prepared to field weakened sides to avoid congestion later on.

You think Rovers will field their strongest team against Bromley?

You think Rovers will field their strongest team against Bromley? Do we have a strongest team? 😮 I can't see GC resting too many 1st teamers as he won't want the embarrassment of losing to Bromley, plus I assume he'll be targeting a money spinning 3rd round tie. I'll be a bit surprised if any Development Squad players start.

International Squads are being announced today, to be honest I don't think anyone is the blame for this, it's just one of the quirks of football. Historically with the third and fourth tier, there would have been no real bother however now with a more global game it's obviously become an issue.

Especially with the Sunderland game likely being called off the week after. I suspect GC will then use the selection rules to the max for the FL Trophy tie against Swindon during the week where a few development players will get a game.

Burton v Southend postponed due to international call ups according to the BBC.
So other than Sunderland, Burton appear to be the only other league one team who have a number of internationals as this will be their second game this season called off due to call ups.

From The Sunderland forum: 7 minutes ago #66 "C.McLaughlin not in the Norn Iron squad so that's just J.McLaughlin and Flanagan missing (although CMc is suspended anyway)
It all hinges om Burge being fit enough"...

Burge is there present number one keeper and is injured at present. There other senior keeper called up for Scotland and the only other keeper is a youth product. Think the question is how long are they allowed to decide if Burge is fit enough?
