Shrewsbury Town are appealing the suspension: www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2019/november/sam-ricketts-on-pierre-suspension/According to Ricketts: “Aaron Pierre got sighted for a supposed head-butt,” said Sam. “He was trying to break up the melee which was a result of the referee not giving a penalty on the weekend.
“The FA have gone back over the footage and deemed that he’s tried to head-butt one of their players. That is the furthest from the truth, he wasn’t aggressive before or after the incident.
“He was trying to separate players, let alone instigate anything. We have appealed and we will have to wait and see what the outcome is.”
I think he's in denial

Not saying that I don't trust the BBC, but there is no mention anywhere else I can find about Rovers being charged.
1. Nothing on any of the club reports 2. Nothing in the Bristol Post 3. Nothing on the FA disciplinary web pages
Are you sure the BBC reporter isn't related to Ricketts?

Finally found a link to the headbutt... Good find GGMI. Would have been a red card if the ref had seen it... no way will the FA change their mind... dirty buggers.

Just been on Shrewsburys forum, some of them actually think he head butted him by mistake with the back of his head, I have looked at it over and over again but that looks deliberate to me 100% and the front of his head.

Not sure why this 'breaking things up' is even getting play. Everyone who's ever played any sort of football knows that 'breaking things up' is just an excuse for getting involved.

The very first line of the article in brfckyle’s original post states we have both been charged. ”The FA has charged Shrewsbury Town and Bristol Rovers in regards to an incident during our game.”

The very first line of the article in brfckyle’s original post states we have both been charged. ”The FA has charged Shrewsbury Town and Bristol Rovers in regards to an incident during our game.” I think the point trying to be made is that nobody in Bristol has confirmed we've been charged, if we have it seems a bit harsh.

It’s the norm rather than harsh though isn’t it? We all know that if there is a flare up as there was when two of their lads took exception to Jaakkola manhandling their penalty claimant you either bundle in en masse to protect and restrain which shows good team spirit but a lack of control, or you let the three of them settle it and mind your own business which shows discipline and control and a lack of team togetherness. The fact that there were two separate bundles, one where the original push me pull you occurred and one where the alleged head butt took place behind the ref’s back as he was dealing with the first, just confirms neither side had kept their cool but luckily the on field punishments meted out did not ruin the game as a spectacle. I recall a game at Gillingham where a far less serious handbags incident took place yet two of ours got their marching orders including Lee Jones whose only crime was to keep two players apart.....it was the fact that he’d run 80 yards to do so that the ref did not like! Anyway several players from both sides square up to each other twice within a minute of each other, that’s always seen as a loss of control by both teams and they will both be punished, doesn’t matter who started it or what triggered it harsh or no.
Do you consider the Evil Post as being someone in Bristol confirming it? Their article “Bristol Rovers’ Liam Sercombe responds to Shrewsbury Town manager's ‘cheating’ allegations” includes the following:
“Both teams have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players as tempers flared after Louis Thompson went down in the box under pressure from Alfie Kilgour – with five players receiving bookings for their involvement in the ensuing melee.”

Am I wrong in thinking the ban can be extended if Shrews appeal?

Finally found a link to the headbutt... That's a nasty headbutt if he'd really connected, as he seems to have intended to do, he could have taken half of Upson teeth out or even broke his jaw. No 2 was also the same player who tried to chop Smith in half just before our winning goal and once again went unpunished. Surprised there are bothering to appeal!

Sorry to disappoint you chaps:- Charges DroppedJustice done!! Good luck tomorrow!! Kinda amazed at that result. Seems incredible that that can't be interpreted as violent. Anyway, did you ever nail Sercombe for cheating?

Sorry to disappoint you chaps:- Charges DroppedJustice done!! Good luck tomorrow!! Now that charges have been dropped can you ask your manager when is he going to apologise to Liam Sercombe for accusing him of cheating or if not publish the facts of what cheating took place.

Anyway, did you ever nail Sercombe for cheating? I guess you can't prove the intent beyond doubt but it's pretty obvious to most what he was up, it should make the return game a bit spicy!
