I really hope they don’t move the Coventry game, if we make it. Potentially it’s the only home game I’m back in the UK for over the Christmas period. Originally that would have been Bury, but that’s cancelled. I fly out on Sunday 5th so I’ll be really p*ssed if we manage to get to the 3rd round and that gets moved I hope it gets moved as it will mean we have gone through 😋

I was going t drive down to Plymouth for this.
Now I don't have to.
Good old BT. It means we will get some TV money which is a good thing because Muff will beat us.
They always con the ref into giving them a couple of penalties.

This might sound bizarre but that was my favourite Rovers defeat. Singing we're gonna win 6-5 was a most positive statement that nothing can hold us down. Can we have a poll on your favourite Gas defeat ? 2 - 1 at Liverpool, what a night that was and what a goal from Billy Ocean! When the going gets tough the Gas get going. I know ban! Yeah definitely my favourite defeat. I walked out of the ground absolutely buzzing the fact that we’d lost was neither here nor there.

My story from that night.......the team I played for had a number of Rovers fans so we all decided to travel up for the replay. One of the guys jumped up and said he'd organise the coach/transport. Including friends, a large group was going. On the afternoon, we all met to get on our transport only to find the bloody idiot had got a double-decker bus....to go to Liverpool......on the motorway. My poor arse has never taken such a pounding. Talk about uncomfortable !

I remember turning to my mate at half time and neither could believe that we were 1-0 up, agree that billy's goal was prob the best ever Rovers goal (this or Sammy Igoe?).
I remember the second half when this kid that most people had barely heard of came on as a sub and ran us ragged. I think his name was Steve McManaman or something like that.

Yeah, I remember we were laughing at half-time that we shouldn't really have scored as that would now wake Liverpool up.......and McManaman was something else in the second half wasn't he.

You need to talk to Marshy about such things.

Walking back to where they were parked, could hear a Scally giving it L.I.V.ERP.OOL Liverpool FC. He got as far as L.IV. ER....and then it went quiet. Passed him on the pavement.

Was running the line at Walsall the night of the Liverpool match and had asked the home team to let me know of any scores coming from Anfield.Their trainer came on,paused to ask my permission even though the Ref had waved him on and whispered.'Saunders has put you one up
'Brian Parkin Ian Alexander Billy Clark Steve Yates Steve Cross David Mehew Justin Skinner Andy Reece Devon White Carl Saunders Tony Pounder.
Adie Boothroyd came on as sub but think his Gas career was very short.Marcus too was a sub.

I seem to remember Jocky kept McManaman very quiet first half, he swapped wings second half and he did run us ragged. My memory ain't the best though.

That lady garden Saunders should have been banned after the elbow on jock in the first game. Pretty sure he was fined or banned after for it.
