Trying to figure out if rovers1971 is a former Gas keeper looking for some praise, no luck finding an ex-Gas keeper born in 1971 yet;
- Brian Parkin 1965 - Nigel Martyn 1966 - Tim Carter 1967 - Gavin Kelly 1968 - Kevin Miller 1969 - Lee Jones 1970 - Scott Howie 1972 - Andy Collett 1973 - Michel Kuipers 1974
If anything, going on this information 1971 was a bad year for Gas Goalkeepers.

I think Devon White had to go in goal once after a sending off and immediately saved a penalty (I may have imagined this though!) Think it was Ian Alexander and he just booted it clear Not sure why this goalie question has popped up again though Think David Mehew that went in goal when we won against the City at Ashton. Anyway back to the original keeper question; Nigel Martyn by a country mile. Look forward to reading the results of the survey in the Bristol Post. Print that B*****d!

Brian Parkin in his 1st spell we got him plus 1m and whatever sell ons. Surely the best bit of business rovers ever did. Martyn was great, but to be honest Parkin done just as good a job for us until he lost the plot with the Pass back rule

Saw Vaughan Jones ,go in goal at Huddersfield, won 2- Zero,this happened at their old,Leeds Road ground, which was steeped in history, sadly now a car park.

This is exactly the same as your post on Nov 5th 2018. I think you must be a bot. Or Brian Parkin

Ah yes, the poor chap who let 9 in at Spurs. I remember his brother John, he was a bit of a dick though.

Nigel Martyn. Anyone disagreeing with this doesn’t know much about football .

Think it was Ian Alexander and he just booted it clear Not sure why this goalie question has popped up again though I would not say he just booted it clear, he deserves credit for actually getting to the ball to kick it in the first place As I recall it, he shuffled slowly across his goal line, in a strange Chuck Berry "duck walk" fashion, seemingly surprised at how much time he had to reach the feeble effort, trapped it with his feet and THEN he hoofed it.

I missed the Nigel Martyn era and so while logic says him, from the keepers I’ve seen I’ll go with the Flying Pig! Whaaaaaaat!!! 🤯 It was only the other day he was playing for us (wasn’t it?). UTG!

Nigel Martyn, although Brian Parkin proved to be a more than adequate replacement.
