Bill dogdgin was the manager of my childhood and his attacking brand of football with 2 wingers and numerous players making forward runs set the standard for me on how football should be played. I liked darrell clarke because his team played in the same spirit of the dodgin team.

Could GC be the epitome of Bristol Rovers as manager? Written off but coming through when you least expect it?
A bit ugly (the football of course) but down to earth, no nonsense.
You know what? I’m not afraid to be a fan.
He’s unlucky to be following Darrell, a highly successful and popular manager

If he wins promotion this season then along with keeping us up last season that would be an immense achievement and probably make him many people’s favourite.

Though Darrell is my favourite manager that does not mean that I don't appreciate the amazing job GC is doing or some of the great managers we have had as mentioned by others on this thread. It was just that for me the way Darrell seemed to connect with fans he just seemed like one of us.
