Once it went 2-2 and taking into account their last performances it looked inevitable they were going to wear out and we would win. They did seem to give in.

Genuinely don't really understand what happened in this game. It was like we tried to out-football the worst side in the division and got absolutely hammered, then we tried just hoofing it into the box, and got instant rewards.

Worst performance so far from us under Cogs. He needed to change it after the first goal, didn’t , the second was obviously coming , and then still nothing after the second. We’re still in it at 0-2 but needs a big second half from everyone. Boom !! We got it. |

What have fans learned from this match day thread? Don’t moan (if you have to ) until the match is over. Yes the first half was embarrassing , and it could have and should have been worse .But Lads have a never say die attitude, which has put us in good stead recently. Motto.... It’s not over til it’s over.......

I don’t understand it either, the commentators have again been talking about us literally walloping it long the first chance we get but it’s giving Southend problems. GC is going to win the league after today. I don’t understand how, but it’s going to happen. what ever it is your on have you got any left? We’re 6th despite being given a footballing lesson by Bromsgrove! The next few weeks will be tough but I’m preparing to eat serious humble pie and concede that bloody awful football can still win promotion to the championship! |

Have no idea where we will end up this season ,common sense tells me finishing in top ten is a good season and all the points we are gaining now is a good insurance against any bad spells we may have, Rovers seem to have a problem being 'up' for these kind of matches and it took the embarrassing first half and no doubt the hair dryer treatment from GC to shake them out of there lethargy, I am sure they will need no such motivating in the next two league games or the cup replay, Southends performance seems to mirror there season so far, falling apart in the latter stages of games, anyway all's well that ends well and its quite entertaining looking back at the first half post's on this forum! up the Rovers!

Beyond dreadful. Weve made them look like the beat team in the division... We cannot play 3 at the back in the second half. You shouldn't get cut open through the centre when you have 3 CBs. Therefore put that man elsewhere We are 4-4-2. A stutteringly good prediction! |

Thats a quite shocking crowd. It was loads more I was surprised it was that many ,lots of spaces behind the goal in the Thatchers end.
But they do count season ticket holders who don't turn up
(and those that go at half time)
