Bit worrying we've not heard anything further on the JCH contract renewal front...
I worry he's had some news (either won't pay what JCH is demanding or an offer has come in/would he accepted) and no new funds likely to be available.
He's then weighing that up based on:
- Likelihood of us still being this high at the end of the season (perhaps given no funds in Jan and/or losing our best player) - Probably only paid averagely at best - Not overly appreciated by fairly large sections of the fanbase - Really missing his family back home
Whatever it is, it really doesn't look good as I can't beleive you'd say any of that unless you were pretty damn sure you were off...

I’m not saying it’s because the board won’t give him money I said that it could be a breakdown of trust, just the same as it’s been with BRSC, Hamer, DC, UWE, BCC to name a few. BCC? When did that happen? Why was Marvin Rees asked by Laura Rawlings at BBC Bristol last month when being asked about a new stadium for Bristol Rovers if he wanted to see ownership change at the FC?

I’ve got a feeling this is linked to JCH. Perhaps, as others have suggested, he’s been sold. That would be a massive indicator of the board’s aspirations.

Why doesn't he move his family down here? Reading between the lines I think you’re right. Not sure how long his contract is but it sounds like he & his family have a big decision to make. Uproot his wife & kids from Sheffield to move down here which is a massive thing to do . What security has he got .... it’s a gamble . What’s he being paid.... the ‘cheap option’ as some have said might mean he’s thinking is it worth it ? He needs rewarding for his fantastic first yr with a pay rise and the security of at least 2 prob 3 yr contract. He also needs the backing of the fans.... in numbers turning up at the Mem. We’re doing better.... much better but the crowds are down. This is ultimately what the bean counters will look at and ponder before risking offering him an improved contract. It’s chicken & egg. What’s needed now is a 10k plus gate on sat. That’s our bit Gasheads. I don't blame GC for the crowds. It's the people above that are losing the support. I am annoyed with everything or nothing I suppose that seems to improve off the pitch. Cant be the only one. And I go to the games because I have a season ticket..people don't want to spend their saturday getting soaked through in the rain.

Club need to speak to him tonight and assure him that he will be backed in January. Or, perhaps those talks have already taken place (You would imagine so at this late stage) and he's not being backed by the board and that is why GC has said what he has today? Perhaps they are intent on selling Harris, and GC things if he goes I go. As usual a lack of ambition though

Why was Marvin Rees asked by Laura Rawlings at BBC Bristol last month when being asked about a new stadium for Bristol Rovers if he wanted to see ownership change at the FC? Because it seems to be linked with the FM deal? Did he say there's been a break down of trust or is that pure speculation on your part?

It's funny to hear everyone saying how ALQ should back him when only 6800 could be arsed to turn up last Saturday when we're fighting for promotion. Unless he's been promised something by ALQ which he's reneged on it's pretty clear we have no money to spend. Why should Wael be bothered if the fans can't. Yes football not been pretty, but that’s been the case over the last 55 years I have been supporting the club. Perhaps the fans can’t be bothered because Wael & the family can’t .

Even if so, it would be a very strange move and a huge gamble on his part to resign. Whilst he's done a decent job, I can't see a host of clubs queueing up for him.

Why doesn't he move his family down here? Big House in Sheffield = 1 bedroom flat in Bristol. Plus, maybe his kids are at school, they could move, and then he gets the sack.

Why doesn't he move his family down here? He’s got to do what’s right for his wife and kids. If they are settled where they are and commuting down to us is taking it’s toll, you can’t blame him. But why now? Why not a few weeks back? Is it any coincidence that we beat the 2nd place team and hit our highest point in the table and he uses this opportunity to throw his future into doubt? He didn’t say anything when he was building up his reputation. If it’s to do with his family is it really that hard to keep this quiet, go another 5 months, finish what he started and then leave with everyone wishing him well? This leaves a very bad taste with me because we’ve just started to look like we might be going somewhere, people are eating humble pie and getting behind him and the team and then he throws us a curve ball by unsettling it all. He’d just won me over and I’m back to being a bit disappointed with him because this could de-rail it all and disrupt the team spirit.

DC Mk2.
Clubs doing well, manager wants investment to push on. Doesn't get, club sells star striker, club dwindles down the League. Bla Bla same old.
Welcome to Bristol Rovers.

How far can we go with the club? How far can we take it? I don't know, I'm emotional at the minute. I'd like to get away from Portman Road this evening and have some time with my wife and kids," he added.
“The opportunity and change is there for the football club to push on. Let's see where it goes and see what happens.
"Look at that fanbase. Look at the players we've got. This is a massive club. This club could potentially be a championship club. That's the frustrating part.”
Fed up with the boards ambition by the sounds of it.
