Christ All sorts of knowledge and expertise on here!! Ironic that the best example of of knowledge ever shown on Gaschat is about a train! Well, most on here are well ignorant about coaches. (And players).

The old Bolton ground had a railway track running behind the goal. I was there in the 1960s. It was in a 1950s comedy film starring Arthur Askey.
The film was The Love match. 1955. very funny comedy.

Bidefordgas, do you know what type of banking engines used to wait on the 13 arches overlooking Eastville in the early 60's? Engines based at Barrow road sheds were used for banking duties on Fishponds bank. Midland class 4F or laterly BR class 4/5. Thank you for the information Bidefordgas, those locos were an impressive site as viewed from the Tote End.

Cup tie when track ballast was thrown into the crowd at that open end. The offenders did not care who they hit, us or Bolton Supporters.
