That's the one. Butch Cassidy was Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head. Hey, I love Dylan as a recording artist which is why it's all the more disappointing he was so shockingly bad live. Like he was making a point that he'd rearranged every song into a 12 bar blues shuffle style so people wouldn't be getting what they wanted. I'm surprised. Any fan of Dylan should know he has a habit of being a complete dick at live shows. He has a long history of deliberately P?!sing off audiences. Shame, because he is a good artist. On the other side of things, I saw The Cure about 20 years ago and they were absolutely amazing. They played 2½ hours and it was like listening to a recording of every song you would ever wish them to play. (If you are a fan, obviously  ) I’ve seen Dylan twice - in ‘97 and ‘06 and those shows were so bizarre. I’d say about 75% of the time it was like he was just going through the motions but then he’d throw in a couple of great performances of songs that really moved me. My girlfriend went to see him and she hated it. Really soured her opinion of him, which is sad. I think there’s not really anyone to compare with him in terms of songwriting and when he wants to do it, he can be a great performer. |
