This is Rovers, we thrive on adversity. Time to circle the wagons. Everyone has a part to play, Exactly. We’re BRFC we have adversity a lot of the time don’t we? As to “what now” fairly simple really. Players train hard, prepare for the next game. We hope the players develop some grit and determination, assume responsibility, stick close as a squad and team and grind out a decent result at Coventry and then do the same for the next game. That means all players and we hope that our best players step up to the mark and give 100%. As fans we get behind KM and support our team. UTG!

Fighting for points, fighting for results, wishing for money, turning up in crap weather, travelling distances, it's what we're all about and what makes us proud to be Gas.

With regards to transfers it seems Garner & Widderington have already agreed in principle who they would like in and who they wish to see go out. So it seems Tommy W is dealing with all this in BG's absence. I'm sure BG will be kept informed. But it's pretty pointless bringing in Garner type players if they've got to pay Maher type football until May? It's a right mess!!

Is it wrong to think the club should be trying to “steady the ship” by making Maher manager til the summer come what may? Perhaps that might stem some of the uncertainty the players will undoubtedly be feeling? Although that still won’t solve the problem of planning for next season. Will players even want to sign for us this window when the manager’s position is in a state of flux? Once again, a time for strong leadership is upon us and Wael is noticeable only by his complete absence.

How about giving the guy some slack?

God knows what the players who are surplus must be thinking as well as the ones already here and the ones yet to be signed in this window. It would be good to see the club seize the initiative and declare a strategy for the interim whilst the manager is unavailable. Whose team is this? Whose signings are they? Given the run we are on the club looks like a rudderless disaster zone at the moment.

Has he, or has he not, sanctioned and paid for 2 new players?

Well it looks like they're bringing in a Garner type player today -- So maybe Maher will continue to play the Garner way ??

Whatever "way" we decide to play it's imperative that we start picking up points and score some goals. From top of the form table to bottom of the form table in just a few weeks. Just as well GC got all those points before he deserted us for Mansfield.

JG looks like a decent left wingers who's an ex team mate of Leahy's, not sure there's any evidence he's a Garner player as he seems to have been going for Academy players and had already signed two wide players. Hopefully Maher will play his way rather than attempt to play a way he's not familer with.

What now?

I expect Maher to go back to basics and the style that was working pre-GC leaving. He has managerial ambitions as he stated when he last managed the squad, and will want this to be a successful period. I'm not so sure. The development of the club is more important that KM's ambitions. Like a lot of people, I'd prefer we transitioned slowly into the new style that BG wants, but to keep chopping and changing that style throughout the season can only confuse the players. There's been enough turmoil this season already. Coughlan, then Dunne, then Maher, then Garner, now Maher again...and hopefully Garner when he is ready to return. We've set the course, far better to follow it now than enforce yet more change on the squad. I'd like to see us bring in a right back on loan so we have the option of switching to 4-4-2 during a game when it's appropriate. But as a standard, our 3-5-2 with some bite in midfield (Ollie Clarke or Abs Ogogo, if they can regain fitness), a bit of pace up top (currently missing) and an ambition to play just a little more football than we have done this season (hence acquisition of Barrett) should see us through to the end of the season. The evolution can then be accelerated in the summer. UTG
