Sorry, but no. It’s never “ambitious” to hire a man with “games managed: 0” on his CV- it’s “brave”, “commendable”, “risky”, “daring” Etc. But it’s not “ambitious”. And we can see why, because they come with the least guarantee of anyone that they can do the job. It’s a massive risk the board have taken which so far could not have failed any more spectacularly. Ambition would have been Nathan Jones, or someone with some track record of getting a team over the line. You are aware that Arsenal have just appointed a manager with no previous experience? Man Utd have a manager with no real experience. Fair to say that they are both clubs that are far bigger than Rovers and have far greater expectations. Hahahahaha would you say Solskjaer was an ambitious signing? get outta here! How about Barcelona giving the job to Guardiola? Ambitious? People need to get a break, sure, but it’s not ambitious and the size of the club doesn’t make it any more ambitious. It’s a total punt in the dark as to whether you are getting the new Guardiola or the new Thierry Henry.

I’m not too worried. New style, injury ridden squad, Garner has had to take leave due to personal reasons, nothing to lose this season, not going up or down. We just gotta have a bit of perspective and appreciate this is gonna take time to implement. Like the rest of society, football supporters want everything to be handed to them instantly, gotta be patient and get behind the boys. Yeah, I can't believe people banging on about the stadium and the training ground, it's only been 35 years since leaving eastville.

I tend to agree, I’m just going on what people were saying on here. Glad you mentioned Jones though as he was our first choice, but he rejected us... I guess that was then too ambitious? Well, like I said earlier- I could offer my local Ferrari dealership £1 for their top of the range model. You couldn’t fault my ambition! Jones no doubt wants to manage as high as he can. But let’s not forget that he.’s currently on Stoke wages to sit on his ass. If the money we offered was more than what Stoke are paying him he wouldn’t give a sh** about fox sh** ridden training grounds. Of course, we’ll never pay that so it’s all a non-starter, but the point (imo) stands. Pay ‘em enough (show enough ambition) and they’ll sign. Warnock should be within our price range if he really thinks he might have to drop into league two. It’s over to the board. As an aside, imagine if Warnock had opened his trap at Christmas? He could have been Mansfield’s new manager and Coughlan could still have been here..... So you want our owners to fork out Championship level wages while we’re in League One just to tick your box for showing ambition, despite the fact that isn’t sustainable for the club. While we’re at it, why don’t we sign a load of players on Championship wages that we can’t afford too? That would be ambitious. If we’re lucky, it’ll work out as well as it did for Leyton Orient.

Crisis, I have absolutely no confidence in Al Qadis to progress this club, we need people who more competent, show face, make their intentions known.
I don't blame BG, the players are the same player that were winning games, they are letting themselves down by not showing up right now. BG and whoever in charge as always will take the caroline. The result are not too much of a surprise, i would have been happy if we finished 12th in the league at the start of the season, still happy now, anything other is a plus and another season of over achievement in my eyes.
The current owners have been here almost 4 years? And I can't believe the number of calamities that have occurred in that time; training ground land bought with no progress, UWE stadium collapse, selling our strikers for nowt to our bitter rivals, letting our international club captain leave for free, turnstiles that don't work, large screen taking 12 months to erect, no pasties in the food hut... I think they have tried, or Wael has tried, but it is not working out, i don't see how he can take this club forward.

So they got lucky with appointing Coughlan because he did well but are 100% at fault for appointing Garner because he has done badly so far. That is in effect what you are saying. Well, with respect you can make more of a case for that than vice versa: They inherited DC. DC leaves so for the first time they have to hire a manager. They give Coughlan the job temporarily. Coughlan goes on a run of extraordinary form thus making it impossible not to give him the job. When Coughlan left this was another chance for them to actually hire a manager after a formal interview process. The guy they actually hired... well...we all know the rest....So y’see how easy it is to say they were fortunate that Coughlan took the decision of who to hire away from them... But that's the thing, we don't know all the rest! 5 games isn't enough to determine a manager, if we all did that Darrell Clarke would be a sh**e manager and Paul Buckle half decent. I see your point, Coughlan's form as caretaker manager did give them an easy decision but lets not forget that like Garner, Coughlan had no experience in management before taking on the role. Our form could of plummeted from the moment he got the job with disastrous consequences, it's happened before, there is inherent risk in every managerial appointment.

It will be a crisis all the way until the club gets new owners and even then nothing is guaranteed unless any new owners have the money to invest and bring in the right people to manage the club off the field who share the same vision as the owners.
Don't get me wrong there are some really good people working for Rovers but none of them are mind readers and none of them I suspect really know what's going on in the mind of our current owners.
Leadership, stability and direction needed and that can now only come with new ownership.

If you read it again you’ll see that I said *we’ll never pay that* (because we can’t afford it) but it doesn’t change the definition of ambitious. I don’t see why we couldn’t afford Warnock if by his own admission he might have to end up in league 2. Who in league 2 could afford Championship wages?!

You’re conveniently forgetting that Coughlan played over 500 games in the two lower leagues compared to Garners none. In fact BG didn’t play in any professional league. I would imagine GC was the captain too. So a natural leader in other words.

Have you forgot that Garner has been first team coach under the likes of Warnock, Pulis and Holloway, highly rated and comes endorsed by Lambert no less? Two sides to every coin mate.

I think everyone needs to calm down with the relegation talk.
Only 3 go down, bolton and Southend are practically buried already. Of the 9 teams below us excluding them there are at least 3 or 4 that will be far more likely to fill that last spot... Tranmere/mk/wombles etc
We realistically need to average 1 win in 4 to stay up thanks to our good start. Things will be fine, and we'll end up in lower-mid table like the vast majority predicted at the start of the season.

3 goals in 9 matches (13.5 hours) feels like a crisis to me! I think two of them were penalties and the other from a corner too, obviously they all count but it shows we’re not creating from open play . Although we don’t need stats to tell us that because we watch the games and we are dire with JCH up front on his own and trying to play through on the deck.

I actually think the exact opposite and people need to realise we are in the relegation mix. We will certainly not win 1 in 4 at the minute. We are on present form/ performances the worst team in the league if you take out Bolton and Southend. Unfortunately playing style revolution or not we can't afford to change things until we get to 50 plus points and need to start grinding out a few results sharpish.

I'd concede that defensively we were ok prior to GC leaving. However, attacking issues have long been an issue.

I don't blame BG, the players are the same player that were winning games, they are letting themselves down by not showing up right now. Not really sure where the logic is there. Surely if the thing that changes for our sh** run of results is the manager, then the difference is the manager. Seems a bit perverse to blame the players.

'Up' definitely not, but 'Down' is a definite maybe - I just cant see where the next win is going to come from ?
The off field antics are embarrassing and the club seems to be in free fall ?
The evening post article yesterday/interview regarding club/players/stadium was interesting and one can only hope that the stadium comment is true and some how we dig our selves out of this dire mess.
