To be honest LP Gas always used to say to me that we were the most amateurly run professional club in the country....nowadays we have put a much more professional sheen to our amateurism. Buying training land and not using it, shiny new tents rather than substantial stands, announcing sites we don’t own as places to build our new stadium ensuring the price goes up! We are just so much better at being shoddy. However, it’s my club and I’ll cry if I want to...but I won’t quit!
Football wise, after the Eastville Stand burnt down we were shockingly poor for 14 games then won a game and went another 14 before we won again. One win in 29. Once you’ve been through that a lean month is nothing.

Love how you're all happy to jump down the throat of the OP get the boot in whilst in your next breath joining in on the criticism that led the OP to this point.
I'll tell you now I once lived and breathed this football club. These days, no season ticket and certainly dont go as much as I used to. Hardly ever travel away now. Just doesnt feel like we will ever really achieve anything to me and that sure has had an effect on my passion for it. I'm totally prepared and happy to be called anything other users feel suitable and take all the comments about not being a true supporter. If that is what's coming to me, just remember guys that you're criticising someone who used to be like you and the real question here should be how the club plans to manage the supporter attrition that is seeing gates fall.
We all have our limits I suppose. I dont know what it is particularly about the Al Qadi reign that has sapped the energy out of me, it could be one of many things. But that's the truth. I can only see it ending in disaster so maybe it's the self preservation mechanism in me pulling me away ahead of time.
But yeah, that's the honest reflection of someone that as I say literally bled blue most of my child and adult life. And yet now, cast thine eyes upon the field where I grow my *s. Thou shalt see that it is barren.

Being in 4th (or was it even higher?) was a total blip. We are not good enough to be that high. I don't mean that as a criticism either. We are currently a mid table side at best so where we are at the moment is probably where we should be. We just have to win a few games to maintain that position. To get up into the Championship is total luck for any team. Whether you can keep your best players, whether the keeper is in form and stops shots that would lead to defeats, whether the striker is in form to get the goals to get the victory, whether the owners are willing to stump up money for new players/ground/training facilities....etc.....etc. Most of those things aren't happening to the Gas at the moment but they could at any given moment (okay, maybe not the last one!). We are Rovers. Just bumped into a Gashead mate of mine and we were discussing our problems. He said that once every ten years Rovers will do something great to keep us on our toes. That's the way it is. If you want a team with a rich owner, winning games, then pop across the river...they need the support! Me personally, I'd rather support the Gas in the Conference League than the Teds in the Premiership. We are what we are. Rag bag Rovers....and bloody proud of it!! That's probably also the case with Sheff Utd this season and even Leicester when they won the title in the past, what's particularly bugging this year more than most is we just seem as a club to have thrown in the towel and decided to start all over again from scratch again, instead of made any attempts to keep the run going when GC departed (or even try and stop him leaving). Then to top that all we have MS' car crash of an interview.

What I object to is being called witless, a rose tinter, someone who is an easy target because I still want to go and support the Team no matter is going on at Board level. Hope you reconsider one day chap and start finding it fun to return.

Football is much of a muchness and we've been in far worse situations before. What's killing me off is knowing that we're facing a slow death with the stadium situation and the liklihood of that being solved is getting more distant every day.

Did anyone really jump down the throat of the OP? Better change your user name. I’ve had enough of the complete OTT reaction to anything and everything I suspect you weren’t saying this just a few weeks ago when we were 4th under Coughlan. If you truly love your club you would stick by it, no matter what you have to put up with. Do you know what? I'm SICK and TIRED of this sort of post. FUMING MAD to be honest. ABSOLUTE SHITFEST. I'm going for a FRIGGING WALK right now. Even though it's QUITE BLOODY CHILLY. TOSSERS. Posts such as the OP say more about the poster than the state of the club Yeah, perhaps the term 'jumping down their throats' was a bit strong. Perhaps youd like to logically pick apart the semantics in my post?

Have been gas head over 50+ years and will never change my allegiance but have to say the present people top to bottom are trying my patience to the limit. The so called caretakers are not up to this and all i do know is it will be another 3-0 in the next game I done in my years and all the problems thrown at us(Too many to mention here) EAstville Twerton and the Mem But this lot are such an uninspiring bunch of individuals we have now. I have read recently someone quoted as saying they take credit for bringing Rovers into the 21st century Eh! Don't know what your on but I could do with some.

I don't understand why, it's not as if we're being made to leave the Mem, our home for the last God knows how long. Is the new Stadium promise frustrating? Damned right it is, but to have that as a reason to say you've had enough, well, that's just odd.

Not semantics, actual jokes (although mine was a bit of an open goal) (The second one was a pastiche of an OTT reaction).
