So over 50s are now to get another dose of the vaccine, but this time it'll be Pfizer. I thought they weren't giving Pfizer to over 40 year olds? Don't recall that. It was an alternative to AZ for under 40s, due to the blood clot concerns.

Life is very normal right now, cases matter a significant amount less than a year ago. Give yourself a rest. Anyway.. I thought this was interesting. Obviously it's a bit skewed as people haven't been vaccinated for a good portion of 2021, but it just shows how many of the daily death count must be unvaccinated.

You think I’m hurt by your posts ? I’ve just pointed out how wrong you’ve been on this. Unfortunately, I’ve had to do it many times . We both want it to be over ASAP , it’s just you think it is and I don’t …. Yet .

I think we'll just have to learn to live with the virus as we do with the flu virus that kills 1000s every year.

Agreed, but whilst we’re getting near on 200 deaths a day and 30-40k new cases is hardly the time for getting the bunting out .

Not one to argue, but I notice when these daily death figures are released, it still says deaths within 28 days of a positive test. That means a death by any means, not necessarliy from Covid. Bit misleading.

Which is why it seemed more helpful to track the " Excess Death" trends.. at least alongside the COVID death statistics anyway

Bit misleading. I feel like this is just an excuse from people to down play the deaths tbh. I’m sure the ‘hit by a bus’ scenario is mentioned over and over. But in reality, I’d hazard a guess at 99% of those deaths actually being covid related. If you’ve had Covid recently, chances are you ain’t doing anything that would be so close to a life/death situation anyway. Even if you haven’t had covid, what are the chances you spontaneously die anyway? I’m more curious whether people are still counted if they die after 28 days from Covid, those who have a long batter, for example. But yeah, excess deaths is the key indicator.

The death after 60 days is normally about 20% higher ….. but these aren’t counted.

The boffins lol.Admissions have been just over 1000 per day not long ago but they had fallen to the 714 as quoted above. That figure is probably a week, maybe two behind today’s date so they may well have headed north again.Nobody seems too worried though?

I was having a bit of a google about the other major pandemics/virus’s, they generally seem to last 3-4 waves, and we are on 3. So hopefully these predictions have some merit. We seemed to get a few bad variants last year and nothing really now since delta (touch wood) news.sky.com/story/amp/covid-will-end-up-resembling-common-cold-by-spring-next-year-leading-experts-say-12414928
