From a Swansea fan: Sittard have sent Harries back because they weren’t impressed- that was posted today so it sounds like with him out of contract at the end of the season we’ve literally got in there to pick him up as soon as he’s been sent back. Apparently he’s a good ball player but a poor athlete, doesn’t get off the ground for headers etc. Got subbed off after half an hour in November with his side 3-0 down! That being said he was playing in the Dutch top flight so perhaps too much of a step up. Seems a bit of a mixed bag all in all. I guess BG/TW want him for his ball playing ability and not his defending! I've just read plenty of reports on him that contradict this. Why did Swansea sign him on a 4 year contract if he couldn't defend? Seems a really positive signing but only time will tell.

Not saying he's not but if Harris has only played a handful of English EFL games how has anyone got a clue if he's a good footballer or not? When GC was here everyone was raving about Rollin! It's a big ask expecting an inexperienced player to take over from Mr Reliable TC. Stood out against us in the EFL Trophy game for Swansea and also stood out when I've seen him against Man Utd/Liverpool U23s and a couple of times for the Wales U21s. Good signing. gaschat.co.uk/post/508124

Highly thought of at Swansea, but with the likes of VDH and Rodon ahead of him in the pecking order and Swansea owners severely cutting back on their budgets not surprising.

I recall when everyone was banging on about what a great player Bennett was and what a coup of a signing we had made. I’m not convinced by this signing based on what Swans fans have said, but we’ll see what happens on the pitch and hopefully it all clicks and we can start winning games again!

I am puzzled by the transfer needing international clearance. He is British. What I have I overlooked?

Undisclosed Fee, Wael splashing the cash! Swansea have said it’s a free transfer. So I’m guessing that still counts as undisclosed but doesn’t meant we paid money!

Undisclosed Fee, Wael splashing the cash! Could be £5! We've gone form Ogogo and JCH last January to signing young inexperienced players this year, starting to think BG is really Pirate in disguise? Surely we need a bit of experience in the side not just inexperienced youngsters, how about finally signing a decent replacement for Lines?

Ben Cabango too- they preferred to move him up the pecking order instead of Harries, so it’s one thing to say he’s highly rated but the reality is that Swansea have ripped up his contract so he could join us. They obviously didn’t feel they could get a transfer fee for him. The Swansea fans I’ve heard from who have watched him for Sittard weren’t overly effusive- but then it’s a bigger step up so maybe he will do better in league one.

Apparently there is a sell on clause in the contract. May not have made many appearances for Swansea but has played in the Championship and featured in every round of the Fa cup last season when Swansea went out in a controversial way to Man city in the QF at the Liberty.

I read the Swansea forum too, it is only one person on there who said they didn't rate him.

Young centre back with plenty of potential to improve, isn't that exactly the type of player we were expecting to sign once we appointed Garner ? Both him & Barrett have the potential to earn us money in the future so to me it makes absolute sense. Personally I'd try & loan out Meyenase for the rest of the season, give him a bit more experience and depending on Craig potentially go into next season with 4 decent young centre backs. Welcome to the gas Cian
