He's had a full week this week so let's see if there's a big improvement on Saturday/next Tuesday, getting players fitter sounds nonsense to me as we've never looked like any of the players have lacked fitness under GC. Coughlan coached us to be a side that sat deep, defended passively & counter attacked. That requires far less fitness than the high-press that Garner wants to use and we’re seeing that atm with our second half performances declining. JML threw up on the pitch twice on Saturday after running himself into the ground pressing for the first 30 minutes or so - we aren’t fit enough to sustain that way of playing, regardless of whether you think it’s nonsense or not. Exactly this. Spot on. Few weeks time, fitness levels will be so much better, performances will improve.

Get that our form is awful but really don’t understand some of the personal abuse BG is getting, he’s evidently just a bloke trying to do his best. If you don’t agree with the appointment then direct your anger at those who appointed him

In the same week our Manager has been called a 'Useless Clown' and now this appalling thread … Toast if he doesn't win in his next four games ? Panic buying ? Really ?... Have a look at yourself Sipirate … I bet you are all singing, all dancing when we win BUT when the team needs support at its most you stand there throwing insults behind a keyboard. Sorry but that is not the behaviour of a Rovers Fan or certainly not the ones I grew up who laughed at adversity but ALWAYS supported what we had. Finding it really hard to believe YOU could even think you are a Gas Head!! Well done to those pushing back it restores my belief we are decent fans after all. So you think not winning in his first 15 games and after 3/4 months he should retain his position and be clapped from the stands? no wonder as a club we get shafted with fans like you. clearly not just on the pitch we are soft and meek. So what are you going to do about it ? Sack the manager ? No you can’t so you’ve got a choice . Support our club and man up or don’t bother any more because we’re mid table in league 1 and on a very bad run of form. I don’t know how you managed a few years ago if you think this is bad. We’ve had a good last 5 years at this club with 2 promotions followed by 3 mid table league 1 finishes and it looks likely we’ll be in league 1 again next season. Ok this season has been a rollercoaster with all sorts of stuff going on that have been completely out of our hands , pretty much everybody’s hands at that but things have been worse so much worse. Get a grip and get behind the team, this club used to have supporters who would rise in adversity and the club would grow strength from it. Your posts are embarrassing for our club.

Well said Socrates. I am not sure how someone who cant play anyway would not want to play for BG without even knowing the bloke. I am not totally convinced that a lot of players really liked either DC or GC unless they were ones who always got selected!

I like it when people say they have facts and then proceed to write their opinions.

Wael must take some blame for the current form as he appointed a manager who has a completely different style to the one GC had us playing successfully.
Personally, I believe the high pressing games is the way to go in this league but should have been something changed from the end of the season not while riding high in 4th place. If Wael wants this type of football why did he appointment GC in the first place?
Obviously GC dictated the time of the change but I would have appointed someone with a similar style on a short term contract.
This season has been completely written off and now fans can see it the crowds will go down even more.

My main issue with the Garner appointment is the complete lack of cohesive planning with regards to style of play. It's madness to lurch from one style of play to a completely different mid-season. If you look at Swansea under their last ownership, they went through plenty of managers all with a similar, if slightly different style of play. This season does seem to have been completely written off which, is a shame because the League is sh**. It will either work next season with Garner or he'll be gone in October.

You may be right about it looking like a lack of planning regarding the style esp being mid season and it is a shame that in a way by doing this it looks like a wasted opportunity in a league which was / is very open in the top half. But BGs wish to change the style of play does at least stick together when you see what he brought in. Perhaps at least he’s got a plan, I hope he has time to see it through and is given the time. And perhaps Wael did it because he knew that it looks unlikely that we will be drawn into a real relegation fight. Circumstances, Bury and Bolton, Southend being completely useless has resulted in only one place up for grabs at the bottom and Tranmere seem determined to clinch it. I just think Wael and Co. see it as a free half season to experiment and get the system/ style he wants. Alternatively I may be talking a load of boll**.😉 UTG!

Exactly, in a nutshell socrates. We turn up and support, have a moan. Decide on Sunday and Monday never to go again and by Wednesday and Thursday we’re looking forward to the next match. It’s the way it’s always been. UTG!

Didn't see anything wrong with the interview. What were you expecting, a juggling act alongside the answers?

Those saying we should not change our style until the Summer are wrong. If we followed that process we would spend the first third/half of the season bedding it in. By beginning the process now we will , hopefully, be playing as a unit from the off in August.

I was surprised that garner didnt say "we dust ourselves down and go again". Very disappointing. He also failed to remind us that they are "a great bunch" Hopeless.

If they handed out 3 points for a good pre match interview We’d still be in the top 6. The manager talks the talk but so far nobody has walked the walk.

You see, I liked my previous manager at my work more than i do the new one. He let me get away with murder and he was a bit of a soft touch. The new manager is onto me, doesnt let me get away with anything.. and since then although I am not as lazy and happy my work has MUCH improved. Obv course roles reversed as BG is our new manager however this is very relevant and apparent. Except the second his back his turned I imagine everyone takes liberties. In my experience you're prepared to do a lot more for a nice boss than a tosser of a boss. Its a balance. You want the players to willingly walk through walls for the manager - not be afraid of the wall, but not have to be pushed either.
