Not 100% Gas related, but I went to Anfield last night with some Town fans from Shrewsbury to watch the cup replay and you had pretty passing Liverpool via true hard grit and determination from Shrewsbury. OK town lost to a VAR decision that should not be in the FA Cup and a great own goal, but watching as a neutral. I would far rather have the true grit and fighting spirit over pretty passing any day. The Town fought hard for every ball and unlucky with the result. And that was due to pure hard work.
so BG pretty passing football no thanks, just get the team working hard together, and fighting for every ball and never giving up that’s the Rovers way

Pump it up to the big man and get players around him to win the ball high up the pitch is the best way out of this league.

The never say die fighting spirit was what we had under GC wasn’t it? And it was working. But there was obviously plenty of people that weren’t happy with that. We were performing the best we have done since we’ve been back in League One yet the attendances were the lowest they’ve been. I would also prefer results than pretty football but you can’t please everyone, and I can see why the board felt the need to change the style of football to appease some fans.

Seriously though, a great failure of English football culture is that we think this is a choice between one or the other. .

Arguably the best team this country's ever seen. It's also evident that the same ethos is throughout the whole club, through all the age groups.

The big hoof even with passion only gets you so far and quite often relegated, and if you're honest with yourselves our 4th position was totally built on sand. Let's take the rough now, but hopefully next season we will be much better placed to make a concerted effort on this league.

Not the most subtle criticism of BG! I want us to be successful playing an entertaining brand of football like Coventry are doing for example. As others have pointed out, the type of football that Garner is trying to promote will if it succeeds produce players with decent resale value which makes us much more sustainable long term. The type of football that GC played did not. I appreciate the results have suffered recently but for us to go forward I completely get the change of footballing philosophy. Hopefully better results will follow under Garner but if not I would still stick to what he is trying to achieve under a future manager.

As anyone who has ever played football will know, it's a combination of the two. You pass the ball when you've got it, and hard work to get it back when the other team have it. Ain't rocket science.

Can you provide a video of a single passage of play that shows his philosophy in the 11 games hes been in charge? Just one please

BG is already sounding delusional with his 'positives' after each match.
At least with GC there was no velvet glove! dont trust BG AT ALL!

But I bet no one works harder than those Liverpool players with their hard press. I bet they will be one of the fittest teams there are. I bet they put plenty of hard work into their training as well. And as nobby says it’s about working hard and having talent. I am glad our manager is trying to play football and collecting talented youngsters. I hope he is successful for our clubs benefit. UTG!
