Was there last season with ice rain after the game and stayed an extra day due to weather conditions. Lovely ground and great supporters who deserve more but not three points from us. UTG

It's tempting.
I've never eaten a parmo and I'm dying to try one.
500,000 North Easterners can't be wrong.

If you want to visit the area Alnwick is great and you can get a train to The Stadium of Light from Alnwick although be aware the very modern station is a couple of miles away at Alnmouth even though it's called Alnwick station.Morpeth too is a great place and their team won the FA Trophy a couple of years ago putting 4 past Hereford at Wembley. Durham good too and not far away but don't stay in Sunderland!!!!

I reckon we can push on with a bit of confidence from our 3pts v Blackpool and snatch a point at Sunderland and v Ipswich at home , beat the other two in our next few Southend and shrews i think ? and it’ll make for an interesting run in. It’s a big ask but our season isn’t dead as it stands. 45 points left to play for.

I will be there! Now looking forward to it, tough match given Sunderland form, but a good test to see if our train is back on the track, or did we just have a nice blip

Was a much needed 3 points against Blackpool but can't see us getting anywhere near a point against a reinvigorated Sunderland side tbh, fair play to all Gasheads making the trip. UTG
P.S. what the hell's a parmo? 😂

Staying two nights in Sunderland. My last visit was in 1991 to Roker Park.

According to Stats we are only given a 7% chance of winning, momentum is a great thing . I’m not expecting much but you never know

I just hope we give a good account of ourselves and play well. We will have to work really hard to close them down if we are to have any chance of not being torn apart - and I feel that corners/free kicks could be our best chance of scoring. I was at Fratton a couple of weeks or so ago and Sunderland just couldn't defend corners against Pompey's big men up from the back. I think I would like to see us revert to a back 3/5 to make us more solid.

Hope you all have a good day or weekend if you are coming to the game. Obviously I am talking about none football good days.
If this is your first visit to a game up here, you will be pleased to know that there are no home only pubs and we are happy to mingle and have a chat before and after the game in any pub.
As to the game, we seem to have turned a corner and are in our best run of form since we dropped into this league. The biggest difference under Parkinson is the number of clean sheets, I think it is 6 in the last 8 games. This means that we score we win, so even though we do t have anybody who is banging them in every week, we have more than enough chipping in here and there to win games.
The most impressive change is getting three at the back plus wingbacks you work when Ross, our previous manager couldn’t. The difference is that the wingback seem to have more freedom to get forward and it times it is more like having five forwards on the pitch, with the wingbacks getting into the box along with the three forwards,
We still miss to many chances, so if you can cut off the supply to the wingbacks by pressing them back you will have a chance.
The other thing we are doing just now is pressing teams from the front. This was a big factor against Rochdale, who on the first half tried to play it out from the keeper to their full backs on the 18 yard line. The result was the defenders being forced to play hurried passes or losing the ball and putting themselves under more pressure.
By the way just say that City are cheats and that they are as bad as Coventry and you will be well liked.
