I seem to remember he implied that the ref caved in due to pressure from the home crowd or words to that effect?

£500 doesn't seem much of a fine. Either the fine has been misreported (i.e. missed a zero off the end) or the offence was very minimal, in which case why impose a fine at all?

And in the reverse fixture all was fine.... Someone in the dugout got a yellow from the ref last night. Think it came from the hooha around the head injury incident over that way. Not sure if that can be confirmed by anyone closer to the action than me?

Non playing staff get banned after 4 yellows It’s all pretty pointless really, why doesn’t the 4th official just tug on his bollocks instead? That should make him sit down and shut up. 😁 Seemed to do the trick during the England & Wales game.

It seems a bit harsh to me, assuming it must be BG's first offence surely a warning would have been sufficient? Although after last night perhaps BG was right to suggest that Sunderland players are bunch of cheats/the ref got it wrong even though it didn't look that way at the time.

Not sure if that can be confirmed by anyone closer to the action than me? The 4th official was definitely out to book someone on or bench last night. He spent most of the game trying to make out that our coaches were causing trouble, and hardly any time doing his actual job of watching the game and supporting the ref. On the flipside, I think he asked Parkinson to get back in his box probably twice. He was a prize tuuat.

The standard of refereeing this season has been abysmal this season and you cannot criticise them and most referees think they are far better than they actually are. They should be answerable to somebody when they make the kind of wrong decisions that happen every game. I would say that this season we have had two or maybe three good refereeing performances. What is the choice? Referees or VAR. I'd go for referees every time.

From the very beginning people have criticised referees. It has always been the case and always will be.Even in the Stone Age League ,Fred Flintstone was warned about disputing a VAR decision.
