What will be the financial impact of playing games behind closed doors for efl clubs? Could the loss of.matchday revenue and sponsorship threaten the survival of some?

Almost certainly.
The EFL should subsidise the hit or postpone games, not just play them behind closed doors

The problem is that everyone is facing a major health issue. Banning collections of people, so playing behind closed doors is, from a health point of view, probably very sensible and could happen. The problem then becomes a financial, employment issue because if that were to happen several clubs, football/rugby or other who depend upon crowds for income then are likely to be going out of business. I don’t envy the person or people making that decision. In the end I think there may be a kind of fudging and authorities may try and limp to as close to the end of the season as possible, say bring that in when clubs have two/three matches to play. In other words from 1st April. It will be a kind of compromise with clubs losing out on perhaps two home matches income. Most might be able to weather that. Also did the government bring in any compensatory measures for businesses losing income because of The Coronavirus outbreak. If they did then clubs may be able to claim from that. I suspect in the end those who see health as a priority will want it to happen, those who see sport as a priority and who think the whole thing is an over-reaction will want us not to close grounds. It is a dilemma for all authorities, they are b******* if they do and b******* if they don’t. UTG!

It hasn't been, the OP is just asking the problems of what would happen if it was to be behind closed doors. Cobra meeting today though is expected to announce it

Implications for Premier league clubs? Meh.. Would be funny seeing the scousers win the title in an empty stadium though, HA! Implications for Rovers? Pretty big I would imagine.

If it happens, I don't want to hear of fans asking for refunds on their STs

Rovers 4 home games left. 3 if they let Saturday go ahead.
They could limit the crowd to ST holders only, so no queues, reduced attendance.
Closed doors means they would have to reduce ST prices for holders next season or fans won't bother to renew.
End the season now, obviously no playoffs so reduced promotion and relegation, L1 Bolton and Southend relegated they're certs anyway. Coventry and Rotherham promoted.

Wouldn't be allowed, in theory it would be out of their hands. Media is reporting though that any ST or ticket holders for specific games will be given access to the game for free on iFollow

It hasn't been, the OP is just asking the problems of what would happen if it was to be behind closed doors. Cobra meeting today though is expected to announce it As it's being widely reported that they are going to put it in place, when UK cases go over 500. Which could be from today.

We are supposed to be supporters. I would rather the club keep my 20 or 30 quid from an ST at the end of the day.
No doubt the ones wanting money back or reduced prices will be the exact same ones moaning that we don't spend any money etc, etc

Almost certainly. The EFL should subsidise the hit or postpone games, not just play them behind closed doors Wouldn't hold your breath on that. Reckon this could even put a few clubs into admin.

It's bad enough for us and we have little to play for. Imagine if we were near the top and looking like selling out the remaining games. Going to effect a lot of clubs in a bad way.

Probably best that some decisions are made now. Crowds at major events are already being affected so people currently losing money. Crowd at Cheltenham this week has been badly affected, 7500 down on the first day.

I truly believe the UK has acted to slowly, we are a rabbit in the way of a juggernaut thundering towards us.
If you don't believe me, look at Italy and yesterdays article regarding the nurse with the bruised face, and the photo of another slumped over her desk exhausted.
