It’s not about assurances, it’s about priorities, and a season ticket is non essential, but the welfare of our loved ones survival is paramount. Suspend season ticket sales until this hell we are ALL living through is over. Absolutely spot on.

Think with the civil war in full swing. May not be the best time to part with cash for a season yet to be announced. Me and many others totally lost with what's going on Who are we meant to be rooting for? Who is Cromwell and king charles in all of this

I suggest that the club is proactive and makes a statement to say that they are looking into the possibility that in the event that no more matches are played this season or are played behind closed doors then season ticket holders may be offered a pro rata credit against season tickets for next season.

Bit late if you’ve already brought one to help support the club like this muggins has! Nice idea but I think most clubs will be at breaking point and struggle to find the cash to fund an initiative like that.

That also opens the door to the Bury home game that was forgotten about.

I imagine there will be one soon. The EFL released a statement yesterday

The sensible thing for the club to do, would be extend the deadline for renewing season tickets, until the circumstances of this virus become more clear and things begin to settle down. If anyone wants to renew in the short term fine. But the club must realise that many won’t be in the position at the moment to purchase a season ticket, and if they miss the present deadline probably would not purchase S/T afterwards.

Yeah I’d think almost certainly they’d extend, but it makes sense to keep it for now as it creates a little bit of urgency for those who will be buying one

The thing is they reckon we will have social distancing for six months so what will happen then, finish the current season or start a new one with more midweek games to complete the season by May. I'm more interested in keeping friends and family safe, I love the Gas but they are low on the priorities at the moment, an extension is a no brainer or I will pick and choose games, if they are not reasonable considering this is unprecedented and unique times.

I really do not see how any "contact" sport can be played whilst these restrictions are in place tbh. How can you have one rule inside a Stadium for players and/or fans (be it rugby/ football or anything else) and different rules outside it? Would really send all the wrong mixed messages.

How fast it could be rolled out, how accurate the results are, will you need to show paperwork or something on entry that you have tested on the right side of the line etc. None of it insurmountable I agree but all uncharted territory so no doubt some poo traps in there to negotiate. But then again this whole thing is uncharted territory with oodles of poo traps.......... So, for me, no easy/quick answers.

For anyone who didn't see it, this is Liverpool's Chairman Peter Moores statement yesterday:
"In the spirit of transparency we must also be clear, despite the fact we were in a healthy position prior to this crisis, our revenues have been shut off yet our outgoings remain. And like almost every sector of society, there is great uncertainty and concern over our present and future. It is an unavoidable truth that several of these scenarios involve a massive downturn in revenue, with correspondingly unprecedented operating losses. Having these vital financial resources so profoundly impacted would obviously negatively affect our ability to operate as we previously have."
This is one of the richest clubs in the world, Champions of Europe, being frank about how precarious their finances are, despite all the EPL/Sky/BT money. The implications for the lower league teams is obvious.
If you've renewed your season ticket, and if we go into liquidation the way some clubs will probably go, you'll probably be way down the list of creditors. Throwing good money away. Which is why I won't renew until I know there is a club to support. And in this horrific doomsday scenario, Wael would probably hide behind the CV crisis when it is he who has managed to create a £24m (?) debt.

Catch 22 situation as if we all sat and waited for next season to start before renewing our season tickets then we might not have a club to support, regardless if you pay by credit card you will be protected if the club do ever go bust. Not sure how the loan agreement works but I'd have thought the loan company would also have difficulties in enforcing loan repayments if there was no club to watch. The £24m(?) debts are Wael's problem to worry about they have nothing really to do with the CV crisis. I just hope the club do the decent thing and extend the period for buying season tickets, given that some fans simply can't afford them at present.

One solutions being proposed are a shortened season for 20/21 is where you only play once against teams in the division.not sure a full price ticket for potentially 12 home games would represent a good use of ones income.

That may create as many problems as it solves tbh. Depends who you get at home and who away eg Sunderland. Would rather play them here than there. Taken across the leagues there will be lots of moans about the “fairness “ of it all etc. Who decides what is played where etc. But on the other hand....can’t see any solution that provides a perfect answer. Glad it ain’t me making the decision.....🤪
