Yeah let's collapse the NHS and expose elderly and immunosuppressed people to unnecessary risk. Bright spark you aren't ya? If how ever many 10,000s have been able to attend Cheltenham the last few days I don’t see why a few thousand can’t go watch football tomorrow. Do you? Genuine question.

Yeah let's collapse the NHS and expose elderly and immunosuppressed people to unnecessary risk. Bright spark you aren't ya? It won’t make any difference for me as ive been self isolating, in a manner, since May 2015. My Doctors surgery are now conducting appointments by phone unless it’s a true emergency and dentist has only been letting people in when the dentist is ready to see you This will hit buses and trains too. We saw China shut down close to 5 weeks ago yet many are, even now, finding it funny. I hope it doesn’t come to bite them back stay sensible but no panic fellow gas. You will get used to it. Get a rescue dog or cat, perfect time to do so and keep you cheerful too God luck and GOD bless you all

I must admit I am surprised at this. The Government and medical/science experts announcement yesterday afternoon was to carry on, taking the precautions they described.
It seems to me that a couple of Premier League clubs have an issue and have pressurised the rest of the leagues into a kneejerk reaction at this stage. Of course, something like this might have become Government advice in the future, but not yet.
Just as we have a good performance and wanted to carry that on too....

If how ever many 10,000s have been able to attend Cheltenham the last few days I don’t see why a few thousand can’t go watch football tomorrow. Do you? Genuine question. One of the major factors in regard to the management of the pandemic will be the bell curve of serious cases that occurs. It's better for everyone if the curve is low and long rather than steep and high (for the same number of infections), because this means there will be less of a bottleneck in treatment (eg. there are only so many ventilators in the country). To avoid the bottleneck, you either have to, best option, not get ill, second best option, get ill as far from the apex of the bell curve as possible. What this says about Cheltenham and the EFL decisions is debatable.

Yeah let's collapse the NHS and expose elderly and immunosuppressed people to unnecessary risk. Bright spark you aren't ya? Could actually be worse if you believe the reports though. That's why they have not closed the school's etc. They are trying to reduce the peak. If you close too soon, then the peak could be worse, just at a later stage.

It seems it has come from government guidelines. I don't think so KP - this paragraph in the statement says to me it is their own contingency, and not in line with current Government guidance: "Whilst the EFL Board has continued to take the advice and guidance offered by the Government and its health advisors, emerging developments mean now is the time to implement football’s contingency plans in response to the crisis."
