HI All, So there were a couple of people on here who before talked about a perhaps a donation scheme to the club. EG, for each home game missed, we can donate a fee to the club to help out (via GoFundMe or something). We can try to mix this in with other ideas, such as those donating can receive discounts on orders online or something. I've messaged Tom Gorringe the idea and he'd like to set up a meeting with myself, Tom & Martyn Starnes next week. If you have any other ideas, feel free to put them here. If you'd like to join the meeting, PM me and we will sort out the details. Cheers, Jack There are several voluntary ways to help the club financially; Fans can join the Share scheme, Helpline, there is the Bid on the Side feature, visit the club shop in person, or buy on line, purchase old programmes via the SC or Jamie's website etc I know it may be simplistic but even if 5000 of us donated £10 per week (2 pints of Stella) then that we would raise £200k in a month ,even my good lady would do that and she's only just become a gashead. Thoughts?

The objective being that the club is in no worse position at the end of this than when it started. I would hope a projected monthly expenditure could easily be provided.

Get rid of BG now will save money Hilarious - how well thought out. We’d either have to honour his contract and continue to pay his monthly salary or mutually agree a lump sum severance. Really sensible options when trying to help a potential cashflow crisis. Glad you agree, so hopefully he will be on his way asap

This season will be declared void - no relegation or promotion. Financially, a lot of clubs will be in a similar position. The main cost will be players wages but some contracts expire on 30th of June. The virus is likely to go into the winter months so it seems doubtful next season will start until the new year.
Garbage Which part?

Basically we would all be having a whip round to pay kyle bennetts wages and save poor old wael having to pay them. Stuff that.

Season void and no promotion/relegation How I'd lol if Liverpool didn't win the premier League this year if the season was voided. That would be worth Bolton not getting relegated on its own. On a serious note, which EFL club goes bump first? So many clubs run week by week financially, it doesn't take much for a club to really struggle without match day revenue

Why should we, we invest enough through the gates, food and merchandise, for a dump of a ground with no future, let The Chairman and his board of one of one director fund the deficit like any other company would need to do. Are you going to fund your employer if they have to shut for business, after all they pay your wages.

Buying a season ticket is probably the best thing any football fan of a lower league club could do right now...... seriously!

How is the season going to be completed when the UK will be in lock-down for many months with no matches being played and contracts due to expire on June 30th?

Haha yes I'm going to donate money to help out multi millionaire Jordanian bankers or professional football players earning more than I do. As much as I love Bristol Rovers I can think of at least 700 more worthy causes than a limited liability company.
I would buy a season ticket however, if it wasn't for the manager...

Sorry I missed the government announcement that the country will be in lockdown for “many months”. Can you provide a link? if we are just guessing I will go for a 2-3 week lockdown being applied which will overlap the current Prem/EFL suspension meaning we’ll be back underway and able to finish the current season in June, maybe July at worst. The Euros will be postponed for a year and the following domestic season will be underway by September, I'm not sure why contracts would come in to it. It would be a throwback to the old days where players move during a season. Only a small percentage will be out of contract on 1st June and they can continue to play on a non contract basis or sign a very short contract extension before making any long term decisions or moves in what could be a slightly later close season.

I agree but I think the issue is the existence of the club including the many staff who do not receive footballer wages. Like you I wouldn’t be gifting my hard earned to millionaire bankers!

Glad you agree, so hopefully he will be on his way asap And how is it saving money? Because you sack him on his performance which is sh** and don’t pay him anything surely there is a probation clause in the contract

I would hope ST holders will not start asking for refunds to the value of the games that are lost should the season be cancelled prematurely? it's spent money by the club that has already paid wages etc. they don't need the extra burden of trying to find that money as well. After all there's only 4 home games left which.
