When I was talking to a club director last summer I was told debts had reached 15 million. With games being postponed and no definite time when they will be played the club needs all the income it can get now. One answer is get your season ticket for next year as soon as they go on sale. For those moaners who said after the recent bad run they wouldn't renew and those that didn't renew last year, remember we were non league five years ago playing the likes of Woking and Alfreton, I would of given my right arm then to watch league games against Sunderland and Ipswich. Don't want to go back to watching C**p like Yeovil again, get behind the club now and help secure our future, many clubs at this level will really struggle now that their income has been reduced even further .

On a more cynical note 'we' the joe public could have problems of our own if employers bend the rules and do not pay sick pay, even if written in your contract, and even more so, those based on statutory sick pay will have no chance of supporting a football club financially.
Sorry playing devils advocate. - They've had my season ticket money.

Yep agree. The football club will have to come down far on the list of helping if fans own livelihoods are at stake.

Start the summer break now. Resume mid June, hopefully the pandemic will have finished by then, if not we're all screwed.

HI All,
So there were a couple of people on here who before talked about a perhaps a donation scheme to the club. EG, for each home game missed, we can donate a fee to the club to help out (via GoFundMe or something). We can try to mix this in with other ideas, such as those donating can receive discounts on orders online or something.
I've messaged Tom Gorringe the idea and he'd like to set up a meeting with myself, Tom & Martyn Starnes next week. If you have any other ideas, feel free to put them here. If you'd like to join the meeting, PM me and we will sort out the details.
Cheers, Jack

It seems unlikely that next season will start until the new year.

Sorry playing devils advocate. - They've had my season ticket money. To add to this, the club have, since the arrival of Wael, done their best to change the dynamic from fans to customers. It’s at times like this, when they need to rely on the benevolence of fans and not the transitory “get the best deal for me” nature of customers that they would do well to try and embrace the fans more and not keep them at a distance. They might hopefully learn a lesson from this.

It seems unlikely that next season will start until the new year. How so..? Thats almost a year without football. If the new season wont start until next season then how will this one be able to finish? If thats the case clubs will go bust. Also the only way if thats the case we fans can help will be to be willing to donate our cash to the club as if we brought tickets at the gate.

I would rather be given the opportunity to buy shares in the club than give a donation, although if supporters were allowed to purchase shares there needs to be representation from us on the board, as we need to ensure money is spent wisely to take the club forward rather than thrown into a black hole just to pay off debts which has happened in the past.

This season will be declared void - no relegation or promotion. Financially, a lot of clubs will be in a similar position. The main cost will be players wages but some contracts expire on 30th of June. The virus is likely to go into the winter months so it seems doubtful next season will start until the new year.

If you decide to buy a season ticket then I would suggest using a credit card for your own protection during these uncertain times.

Cheers, Jack There are several voluntary ways to help the club financially; Fans can join the Share scheme, Helpline, there is the Bid on the Side feature, visit the club shop in person, or buy on line, purchase old programmes via the SC or Jamie's website etc

Get rid of BG now will save money Hilarious - how well thought out. We’d either have to honour his contract and continue to pay his monthly salary or mutually agree a lump sum severance. Really sensible options when trying to help a potential cashflow crisis.

Could the SC do a 50/50 draw if not ona match day?
If fans paid a quid on line with their names as a payment reference ie Joe Bloggs and sent an email, could someone not send an email back and they say you ate allocated virtual 50/50 ticket no 1234 etc then a draw could take place - live streamed from the Mem? and the winner gets 50% and the club gets some money? Just a thought.
Don't let Bob Twyford do the draw though!
Also could development games be played at the Mem? Gates would be less than 500 but some fans could get their Gas fix.
As well as footy there are other situations that no match will cause with the cancellation of the food bank donation tomorrow and the dementia awareness meeting with the stars of the Ipswich game of the late 70's.
Maybe the Rovers can go to the Welly and ask for hand outs. I mean they get matchday income of around £50,000 plus a year just for being on our doorstep and do not pay one penny to the club for sdvertising. Plus they may (or may not if you are very very gullible) have helped delay the stadium sale.
