The season is over. Realistically, next season is unlikely to start until 2021. According to the govt the virus is due to peak in about 4 months and then you have another 4 months on the other side of the peak. If the peak is sufficiently flattened then it's estimated to take about a year at which point they hope there will be a vaccine available.
Soon there is going to be nowhere near enough medical capacity to cope. If you are over 65 and get the virus, it is very unlikely there will be the resources available to treat you.

In brighter news children only seem to get a mild infection from the virus and there are far fewer infections in children. Halleluja to that.

If its going to last that long (say until early 2021) then would it be better to just finish this season and bin off the 2020/21 season? Say for example, we can carry on again early 2021, the season will finish in early spring (have a slightly longer off season when Euro 2020 is played), then start the 2021/22 season in July (or even earlier). This will also help by allowing the 2022/23 season to start earlier before it stops for the 2022 WC.

The last temporary hospital has closed in China because of a severe drop in cases after just two months since the first case.

I think it’s a fantastical opportunity to throw yourself into your other hobbies. Must be some quite unusual pastimes amongst my fellow Gaschatters. Hammocks for me.

It's hard to be realistic over something we don't really know. It really is an unknown and we can only take each day as it comes at the moment.

Not just that, unless China keeps their borders closed to all foreigners, it will just works its way back to China again most likely

It seems over 70s will have to stay home, any caught out and about will be shot for their own protection.

There’s many aspects to this virus that will change the world dynamic. Could it be Greta’s revenge. It’ seems like this virus doesn’t particularly affect the young so they tend to be less likely to modify their behaviour. They then spread the virus without being harmed whilst they wipe out the boomers.
Add to this the crutch of the young, the mobile phone, is a little bug incubator. Never before have we had a little device in our hand constantly that can carry pathogens.

Don’t think about nicking my idea, I’m working on the screen play for the film. Just a shame no one will be allowed to go to the cinema when it comes out!
