Afternoon Gasheads, I hope you're all doing alright in these crazy times. During my procrastination this afternoon when I should be working, I stumbled upon the YouTube channel "Floyd Nello" (shout out and thanks to you if you're on here) and they appear to have been uploading a fair few highlights reels of old Gas games. An example below of the 1st leg of our infamous playoff semi final vs Northampton in 1998. Ahh, memories I hope these will allow you folks to while away some of the boredom, it's certainly what I've been doing...thanks to Floyd whoever you are!

Now ain’t it funny how your mind plays tricks with you. Before watching that I would have bet anything that I recalled they scored their goal at the South Stand end. Jeez...this isolation is not doing me any favours ...or is it just Anno Domini....maybe both😢

played so well that could have been out of sight before they scored, strange cos when there goal went in the whole tie changed and i for one was not confident about the return leg and for some reason feared the worst

For all the people who slate Holloway its highlights like this that reminds me of what great foundations and teams he put together in such a short period of time. This was only our second season with him as manager and at the Mem but the players he brought in on a shoe string were players I call Gas Legends! Their were so many great players during his spell and yes we never achieved promotions but I witnessed some of the best players a club like ours could see in the blue and white! He made us a free flowing attacking team with steel at the back. I wish he was back here now and feel we missed a opportunity a few months ago.

We were far superior to Northampton that day but I remember leaving the ground feeling flat. At 3-0 we were comfortable and likely to get a fourth, but you could see that late goal back knocked the stuffing out of us and the trip to Northampton suddenly seemed very daunting. They were one of the dirtiest sides I’ve seen as well

Amazing some of the challenges on that video you’d never see players get away with some of those these days they’d be looking at possible sending offs for some of them 😂

It’s a shame we didn’t hang on and make it to the final. We’d have won it on penalties. I’m pretty sure city were relegated that year and we’d have swapped divisions
