This is already being discussed on the WAQ reported thread.
It hasnt even been proven that 24M is correct.
Looks like LJG was right. If you repeat something often enough people will believe it.

I've heard a rumour that it's all due to Kyle Bennett's wages. 🤣

Interest, a large wage bill, rent on the training ground, stadium maintenance.
Take your pick really.

Take your pick really. add to that inherited debt which was really just moved not paid off and years of multi million pound losses. But it’s not unlike any other club really Doncaster are in bigger debt than we are for example

I would imagine that the £24m figure comes from Capital and Reserves section of the accounts (p10) taking the in-year losses and adding them to the figure disclosed the previous year (year on year profit/loss). What seems to have been omitted from that £24m figure is that the net liabilities (debt) is discounted by the shareholding meaning the actual liability is £17m.

I heard it was £42 Million. You're getting confused mate, that's what we paid for Nichols

Started watching the Sunderland doc series 2 on Netflix yesterday. At the end of their championship relegation season they were paying £7m a year in interest. Not read the accounts yet for this year but I guess ours could be gruesome?

That sounds more like the amount I was told last summer by the club. Of course they were hoping to get rid of Bennet and Nichols so perhaps their wages make up the other 7 million !.

We have signed 52 players since Wael took over. Mostly down to DC Well he was manager when Wael took over, oh and got us promoted twice. GC signed a few in his short spell and BG has signed some, I’m sure DCs signings are totally to blame though for the debt.

What does that mean I plain English though, either we owe somebody, whoever it is, £24m or we don't? I assume if the ALQ's ever sold us, or put us into Admin(!), they'd want the full £24m not just a discounted debt?
