Can't remember if I heard it correctly, I'm sure someone would correct me if so - But a big thing from that is the mention of ALWAYS being under 60% of turnover on player wages etc. Did have a bottom 8 budget in the second season in League 1 which also happened to be his biggest budget. But some people on here like to claim they're in the know and DC wasted money and is part of the reason for our debt. That’s not what he said, I thought he said the second season was bottom 8 but the last season was the biggest budget he was given Fair, is 24 hours or so in my memory lol. Either way, still working on FFP rules and within all the laws and rules.

Regardless of what happened come the end, we will never have any one like him again.
Great interview and just great to hear him talk about Rovers again.
All of “meh supporters” are still here and would genuinely have you back DC.

People would have DC back, even if we were in the bottom division?! Well...… the biscuit has been well and truly taken.

Still refers to Rovers as ‘we’ and ‘us’... what a bloke!
Miss him. My favourite ever manager.
Really good interview - brilliant stuff.

Nice one Harley, great interview with a great man. I really miss him being our manager and I very much doubt we'll have another boss that connects with the fanbase as well as he did and judging by the interview he still does! I really wish him all the best and hope we can play one of his teams at a higher level one day.

“Me supporters” ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) Made me laugh when he was talking about the conference days "We had a poor start and we were at Braintree and one of meh supporters punched someone in the head" Anybody else I’d think they were witlessly arrogant referring to the fanbase as his supporters. But dammit, with Clarkey it was the truth. We were perhaps his supporters more than anything else at times.

That interview he gave after Matty Taylor left has to be one of the finest a Rovers manager has ever delivered. Gave me confidence that we were more than a one man team and that we would push on regardless. Blokes with the integrity and honesty that DC possesses are a rare breed in football.

I'd have DC back tomorrow. Love the bloke. He has his faults but he somehow found his way to the heart of this club during his time here. Don't think I will ever feel the same about our club as during those years. My favourite time as a Rovers supporter.

DC was a whinger. The pitch too hard, too soft, and when it was right along came another excuse. Good non league and Division 2 manager but hopeless in Division One. And of course we are still suffering the financial decisions he made. ie. Bennett on a 4 year deal. And two of our "favourite" forwards being paid off.

He'd spent the last three days eating cereal and staring at the wall for no other reason than to allow his sore, over abused member some well earned recovery time. Perhaps the post would be ignored. Perhaps not. Perhaps he'd get a bite or two and it would give him something to think about. Nothing ventured, nothing gained he thought to himself as he closed the laptop and poured himself another bowl of rice krispies.

Dc did a great job in getting us back to league 1 , but when we got there he brought in some awful players such as Burns and Mensah who were never league 1 standard, where are they now, they have found there level. He says about paying players high wages well he did with the likes of Bennett, these poor signings have led to our large debt.

Let's just say that Bennett was paid 2000 per more than we would normally pay. That's 102k per year. We would have to have done that 10 times before it would even get to 4% of the clubs alleged debt level. Not really buying it to be a huge factor?
