Doubt it'll be announced until the fate of League One's been settled. Can't very well tell Sercombe and Ollie Clarke they won't be staying, only to then need them to play a month later.

By next Saturday according to the The Telegraph website the BP referred to it's article.
"Clubs are due to decide on out-of-contract players getting released by the third Saturday of May and despite the season being unfinished due to the coronavirus pandemic, many English Football League clubs are still working to the traditional deadline. "
Although I assume the players themselves know the score anyway.

If the season is on then emergency contract extensions will be agreed and if not, I reckon we'll see a lot of departures, with few people renewing I doubt there's much room to manoeuvre when it comes to handing out new contracts right now.

Just posted this on the other thread, it looks like no decisions any time soon regarding L1's season ending. Although it looks like our seasons over. www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/football/peterborough-united/peterborough-united-are-made-wait-their-fate-again-league-one-clubs-not-expected-vote-again-until-end-week-2856385

They could still potentially offer contracts but at a reduced wage

I would imagine a lot of the lower league, average players, are making some career decisions themselves at the moment. Most are young enough to retrain and may not want to risk the precarious life of a footballer if they’re only getting paid the living wage. Most could work in the week and pick up a few quid playing part time at non league level.

Bath City have to pay back a one million loan next year and they were hoping their recent planning application re the re development of Twerton Park would cover that Now thats been turned down its hard to see where they go from here. Its a shame as they try very hard to attract new supporters with initiatives such as kids go free, family days and pay what you want.

It is a shame, as they were getting some decent crowds for the bigger games. Really hope they can survive this.

Radio Stoke just.Port Vale have released 6 players so decisions being made. League 2 clubs have already decided to end the season though. So Port Vales season is finished. Ours isn't. Although we know we will probably be in league 1 next season, so we can still plan ahead. A lot of league 1 clubs currently don't know though.

That’s why I said a few quid. Expenses at the higher level of non league football and means they would keep their hand in.

I think the golden age of agents is over at least at our level.
Players (and fans) have to be realistic. I would not expect players to move far from home for one year contracts so we should expect local players getting more chances.
For the likes of Ollie C, I would expect him to be offered a 50% pay cut, but with the promise of a testimonial.
Journeymen may still be around for a few years as they know they can get a pension at 35, if they don't have any other trade.
We may offer contracts to players who we may get something under the Bosman ruling, Kelly, Meyanese, Hargreaves, Tomlinson etc but the wages just won't be there.
Saying that, the likes of Peterborough and Ipswich may gamble for promotion.
The current championship bottom 3, plus the teams who don't go up this season means it is going to be difficult for anyone else unless they play a blinder in the transfer market.

How do we play out the season with a pitch that has been dug up? It doesn’t matter to us, the ball is always in the air.

Looks like scholar Luc Noble has left the club. Was highly rated at one stage, had captained the Wales youth side and got good reviews against Southampton in the FA Youth cup earlier this season.
Posted on Twitter thanking the club for the last 7 years and saying Looking forward to a new challenge and fresh start.
