Spoke to a chippy mate of mine at 11am today whos working on the new houses in WSM on the old helicoptor site. I asked what he was up to and his reply was that he just walked off site as he was already sunburnt from the searing sun putting some roof beams in and it was so hot doing second fix on another house inside that he couldnt see nails for sweat. I sent my guys home at 3pm today after it rose to 41'c in the workshop and i fed them ice lollys and ice cold water all day. You cant work in it. they put those houses up at one a day I am sure, they remind ,they of that song Little boxes, they're all made out of Ticky Tacky and they all look just the same I wouldn't buy one mate...!!

I'm happy to report that work on the site was proceeding quite nicely this morning. Any pics? Afraid not - if I pop over the week end I’ll get some posted. They’re certainly moving on a pace - reckon this Phase 1 alone is going to look pretty impressive when complete.

Have changed the thread title to reflect the latest news.
To be honest, it was driving me mad. I went up there to check it out, for the thread, and they were working really loudly but quickly, so I updated the thread title, but then they suddenly stopped work, so I had to update it again. Then they started work agan, so I had to update it. Then they suddenly stopped and there was silence, so I thought I'd better update the thread to show that they had stopped. But no sooner had I done that, then they started again, but then they stopped. This went on for about fifteen minutes till I relaised it was a bloke doing some hammering.

Ok - depending on which direction on M5 you're coming from. Take A38 North toward Thornbury. Thro Almondsbury - old hospital on your right. On for I mile through pedestrian lights over M4 bridge until lights (aprox 1.5 miles from J16). Turn right at traffic lights - after 200 metres turn left - training ground about 0.5 miles down the road on the right.

Go past training ground and over the M4, see guy on bridge with camera and binoculars. Get back home and look at street view from 2019, see same guy and smell a rat. Start a thread on gas chat ref NIMBYS and if anyone thinks the land is being monitored. Get slaughtered for having no credible life. Ask wife what she thinks of you and you’re achievements. Wish you hadn’t asked.

Do they work weekends or have we run out of money again? We’re up to our ears in 24million pounds on debt*, with an owner who’s desperate to sell**, so it wouldn’t surprise me. [*not debt] [**doesn’t want to sell]
