IF Elmer & Baldwin are signing I cannot see how we will be sticking with six CB - something must be lined up somewhere for at least 2 of our current CBβs to leave.. Theses are experienced players coming in - not bench warmers. . Even Grant who is quite a big unit has had experience at CB. IMO we will be keeping Meyanese & Harries - Kilgour lined up to be sold and Davies moving on somewhere, perhaps back to the Midlands.

All my posts about coughlan agreed that he was effective but i disliked the football---- with garner i will buy into his attempt at bringing young players in etc but the team until the sunderland match were a total clueless shambles. Nobody needs to slate garner because his record as a manager does the job very well on its own. My view is that if coughlan played kilgore-davies in a back four they would have been well drilled and just fine. Thing is under coughlan they would have known exactly what was required. I would like garner to have more time but only by sticking to the young player theory. For ehmer/baldwin i just think highly paid with no sell on value which has been our downfall since season no 3 in league one imo. I'm still struggling to reconcile the good form with 'Poor Football' myself. Sitting close to the playoffs and taking home points has always amounted to good football for me. I think the Coughlan era (does that count for an era, or maybe a period?) presaged this whole strange year we're having. Rovers were going up the table, fans were exiting the stadium and then coronavirus hit. Unprecedented indeed I totally take your point and right at the end of the coughlan period the team were more aggressive in their intent which had sceptics like myself warming to the team more. Mostly i hated the football we played under coughlan and did not renew my season ticket at the end of last season. My choice ,my time and money but i understand the theory that "winning is everything",its just not for me. A midfield of upson, clarke and ogogo worked well for coughlan but left me numb with boredom.

Topper, given youβve posted over 18k posts and Alfie is one of our brighter prospects I guess you might be posting about him several more times whilst heβs with us. If I was a young man trying to make my name in the game Iβd hope my own fans would spell it correctly Iβm sure you arenβt the only one misspelling it, and it could be your phoneβs correction software doing it rather than your fingers and thumbs but as you are the forum member most likely to post more about him maybe you could wean your phone off of the habit? I donβt enter into the grammar and spelling debates usually (up to the individual if they want to use their, there or theyβre, definitely or defiantly, your or youβre etc) but I think players names are different. Of course nicknames or initials are fine and in some cases safer...TN was convenient if you werenβt sure whether there was one l or two!

My thoughts too, in fact I think the club have been very canny in staggering the releases of the news of contract extensions/rejections. Hargreaves, pause, Kelly, pause, Andre, pause, Hulbert, pause, Armstrong, pause, Walker, pause, Tomlinson, pause, Warwick, pause, nothing over the weekend, OC Yes or No either Monday or Tuesday....then July 1st arrives and the negotiations that have come to fruition can be released...and they might still stagger these or might double dip them....remember when we went from zero to two permanent keepers on the same day? Anyway I think the drip feeding of the playing staff news has kept June communications positive on days where weβre not announcing training ground progress, boardroom and ownership changes or debt to equity conversion info.

No I was just repeating how BB spelt Kilgore, perhaps you want to write him an essay now as well?

No I was just repeating how BB spelt Kilgore, perhaps you want to write him an essay now as well? Funnily enough I initially thought BB was doing the same as you. But looking back through the thread I saw heβd spelt it right 20 odd hours ago and continued to do so until a post two hours ago, it doesnβt say heβd edited those earlier posts either so I couldnβt really aim the comment at his posts hence I concentrated on the one who has continually misspelt it especially as you are such a prolific poster on this forum. Last time I posted about player name spellings it was our own programme that could not decide whether it was Jaakkola, Jaakola or Jaankola....that didnβt go down too well either!

True, but you'd think they'd amend Jack Baldwin's at the same time. Either way, Ehmer looked good against us, so would be a decent signing IMHO. Getting excited already seeing the calibre of player that we're being linked with. I guarantee it's an over excited Gashead on the windup, but not bothered enough to update Baldwin's page. You could be right, but signings have been 'announced' on Wikipedia before.

That's fair. 90 minutes of kicking a ball around our own box gets me riled watching England, you're right it's a shame when it's the quarters and you've paid money to watch football, not a training exercise!

Sorry, I would disagree with that. Yes there may have been some "ITK" people that update Wiki pages before something has been officially announced by a club, but that's akin to a broken clock being right twice a day. I would be very surprised if any media department of a club prioritised updating Wiki over an official club announcement/Twitter page. Happy to be proven wrong though.

BG is going from strength to strength, potentially two more quality signings, with so much depth in the CB department, no doubt we will playing three at the back, with pacy wing backs. Every week the good news just keeps coming, love it, Utg.

Yes, that didn't stop the media, primarily the BP/Bristol live going into overdrive that he was on the verge of signing for us.. My point is that the club have said nothing about these two either (why would they if they are negotiating) and that I'd hate a similar thing to happen to us again like I'd did with Miller, with us getting our hopes up from a story totally fabricated by the media alone.. Looks like we had a lucky escape with Miller anyway, seeing as he couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo in the football league, compared to when he played for Dover in the conference and that he appeared to be a complete a**hole as a man (numerous drink drive convictions as well as assaults)

They had that lad from Torquay as a nailed on signing and he ended up at Mansfield. I the club were interested in those 2, or any others for that matter, I would hope the last people they would inform would be those at that useless rag. I shall wait and see what the club announces after 30th June. That's when contracts expire.

They seem to have got Josh Grant signing right, as virtually every media outlet is suggesting that he's joining us next week. Perhaps these rumours are direct leaks from someone at the club? Somebody seems to have told them about a "big shopping list" but they've put no names to who told them that either.
Ehmer seems to have been messed about by Gills then given a reduced contract offer, so he seems a real possibility.
