I havent posted much for some time but have been involved in forums since 1999 as probation gas and then this persona.
At times i have been quite negative but when Wael and family bought the club is was a huge relief. I always went with my Dad Since i was 6 and i was now a Dad fearful of having no club to take my son too after its horrendous mismanagement by a generation of owners and poor managers. It seemed to go sour when things went quiet but this act of writing off £20m is ridiculously amazing all be it its insaine we ever got that much in debt.
My Dad is now 72 and was diagnosed with cancer two weeks before lockdown. He should be ok but his treatment was delayed. This news has not only given me hope that my son wont end up being a twatty Liverpool fan but that both he and my Dad in his lifetime may experience a club that plays at a proper stadium with an ambitious owner and successful side.
No reason for posting this other then to echo the many messages of thanks and say again just how much this means and please please may this not be another false dawn.
Up the gas
Ben

I sincerely hope your Dad's treatment goes well and that he makes a swift recovery Dinsdale. Best wishes. I can only echo axegas' words and wish you, your father and family all the best for the future. Here's hoping he makes a swift recovery. Dins, I also share your sentiment regarding Wael and the future of the club and feel much more positive about our chances of progression now. Stay strong Dins and you have my very best regards.

Sorry to hear about your Dad, dinsdale. I sincerely hope that he makes a full and swift recovery, and he can join your family at a Gas match, even better a match at a new stadium. All the best.

Hope all goes well with your dad dinsdale and that he gets the treatment he needs at this time. I think you echo the vast majority of gasheads with what you’ve said, it’s been a positive week! UTG!

Up the gas Ben Ben I have read the forums for a long time and remember Probation Gas, and had no idea Dinsdale was one and the same person. What Wael did last week made this fifty year old gashead emotional.....he reignited the hope. His motives have always seemed good to me, and now it seems he has the wherewithal to do stuff. The kind of stuff I would be doing if I was loaded. Anyway, nice post, about you and your dad and passing rovers onto your son. I lost made old man a year ago and said to my Mrs straight after the Wael news broke last week that I wish I could call him to tell him. I don't have my own kids, but have 2 Walsall step kids who come to matches, and one has definitely got gas in her know.

Up the gas Ben Great post dinsdale. I echo your sentiments towards wael. I am facing the same battle as you my 8 year old is Liverpool this Liverpool that at the minute. I'm struggling to keep him on track to follow in my footsteps as a gashead. The main reason being the facilities. Having to stand in the freezing cold and water in portaloos apparently isn't something he enjoys? Let's hope wael can come through and get this stadium we have strived for, for so long and just maybe wel have a chance yet for our boys to follow in our footsteps.

What a lovely bunch you are. Itl all be fine im sure :-). My son is 5 and doesn’t understand yet other then knowing i love the gas so he wants to. He loves his Rovers shirt and i will do all i can to get him involved.
I think i was 22 when i was Probation Gas now 39 lol. The reason for the anonymity is that im high up in the MOJ and im also prone to saying things that would make me very low in the MOJ. Lucky enough to have met a lot of you over the last two decades a really top bunch when times are hard.
All the best
Ben

I remember Probation Gas - was it really that long ago!
Best wishes for your Dad's health to improve, I hope that they get back on track with his treatment, such difficult times in so many ways. No doubt he's made up to see the 3rd generation of Gasheads in the family - good work!

Don't worry about kids jumping ship to a PL club. Once they start getting Rovers merchandise for Xmas and birthdays and identity with their parents' wannabe enthusiasm, they're hooked for life.

Best wishes to your Father Dinsdale, I hope he makes a good recovery. My youngest is fully committed to the Gas. I started taking him as an 8 year old ( as soon as his Mum would allow). His first away game was a 0-0 at Northampton in our relegation season. We became ST holders for the Conference season because he loved the Gas so much, and now we're all 3 ST holders.
My lad doesn't like the Prem, doesn't like the sterile atmosphere and much prefers the earthiness of L1 and the fun of going away.
Oh, how I miss those train journeys around the country to watch the Gas, the over - nighters to Sunderland, having a laugh with the oppo fans before the game.
