Spoke with an ex player who is now an agent and he has said we are looking at a player from Bath City called Tom Smith. He said a few L1 and L2 clubs are interested.
Don't know a lot about him to be honest. Maybe Pirate could tell us more?

Loves a long range strike does Smith and strikes the ball so cleanly. Scored numerous screamers this season (17 goals in total) and was recently name the National League South player of the year by The Non-League Paper.
Started his career in the youth team at Bristol City before switching to Swindon, where he went on to play about a dozen or so games at League One level. During that time he was used in more of a deeper role as a defensive holding midfielder, before being converted into more of an attacking role during his time at Bath.
Whether he has the all round game to be a success at this level, I'm not entirely sure and have my doubts, but I've only seen him live twice so it's hard to say. I've heard Exeter are very keen.

Saw quite a bit of Bath the season before this.. They had a CB called Cundy who was levels above the rest and got snapped up by the 82ers. Decent LB called straker who left them, a lively no10 type player-mann and our ex players Ryan Clarke and Sean Rigg. The rest of their team including Smith (who you can't miss because if his bright orange hair) were pretty average and non descript.. Unless TS has dramatically improved beyond all recognition this season, I don't think he'd be anywhere near good enough

I presume we’re going to still have the development squad in some shape or form next season and I don’t suppose they all have to be spotty teenagers, maybe a late developer is what we see here?

Didnt start his career in the Bristol City youth team. But going by his goals and YouTube clips , I thought he would’ve caught your eye .

Bristol City came in for him during his early days at Swindon, but the clubs couldn’t reach an agreement over the fee. Serves me right for trusting Wiki. Seen him play against Weston in the past and yes his goals have caught my eye.
