Government have just announced that fans will not be allowed to attend pilot sporting events.
Looks highly unlikely fans will be attend games at the start of the season which is now only 6 weeks away. Are people expecting to see any live football this year?

If the government is stopping 'trial cricket games' were 300-1000 fans can't attend in grounds holding 20000 . Bearing in mind we are experiencing the hottest days of the summer. What's the chance football will return in our miserable wet crowded stadiums ?. Sadly : the infection rates are hardly going down and some are suggesting a second wave.
I think the only option is to 'stream games' and hope fans purchase a streaming season ticket to help football clubs.

Will be next year before the government hold any discussions about allowing spectators to watch sport. It even could be a year or more from now.

I think the only option is to 'stream games' and hope fans purchase a streaming season ticket to help football clubs. That won’t help many football clubs. I think in the next few months, we could see lower league clubs starting to fold. And to be honest, I can’t see much hope for the Gas either.

Until a proven vaccine is widely available (and you have proof you have taken the vaccine) I cannot see any government allowing crowds at football (EFL level anyway)
Same for Concerts, earliest date so far for ones cancelled this year is March

Although I do wonder if you can meet with inside a pub, why you could socially distance in a stadium?

I didn't renew our three season tickets (me and the kids) I'm afraid as I didn't expect to be allowed back into stadiums any time soon, and, because when stadiums are reopened it will be stop start, a right pain getting in (more time and hassle) and nothing like the normal experience.
I've resigned myself to not seeing any live football next season, it'll be ifollow for us next season. For the record I'm early forties, mildly asthmatic and have a job that includes working with elderly people.

Thanks No decisions have been made regarding iFollow for next season, assuming Rovers are playing all their games behind closed doors 'til October at the earliest, then it seems inevitable all the games will be shown on iFollow.

Didn't Martyn Starnes address iFollow availability in the Gas podcast with Tom Gorringe? I understood the answer to be YES?
The worst crowd you get is the House of Commons and Lords? Lords will be "happy" in a lot of cases if not held? Are MPs banned from these gatherings? The whole thing is a mess and not clearly thought out? I agree the situation is changing but it's about time they started classifying this virus in terms of danger levels like terrorism threats and then put strategies and plans at each level for the country as a whole. This will then give a much clearer picture of what the general public can and cannot do. This would be backed-up with mandatory requirements for specific instances like quarantine, self-isolation, testing, etc. Irrespective of the virus risk level.
PS Until JCH signs a new contract, most teams would put us at a low level of risk anyway?

With the world seeing it's highest new case count today, with deaths world wide on the rise, with Countries that thought they had it under control showing increases and reintroducing or postponing opening lock down measures (including in the UK) there is no way we will see crowds this calendar year at football matches in the EFL. By the time we get to mid October/November the situation will be worse than we have seen it before - prepare yourself for it.

If we’d of gone for a zero Covid policy like New Zealand 🇳🇿 we could all of been at the Mem For the opening game . Instead we’re a country run by a buffoon who’s totally out of his depth. Hence why we have the highest excess death rate in Europe .
