Having a look at their forum it looks like it didn't take Coventry long to get back into the 'big club' lording it over smaller clubs in the lower leagues mentality. They've only been in the championshp a few weeks. To be fair , we were similar as soon as we escaped non league football. Just like we’ll be billy big boots when we’re travelling all over Europe in the champions league

Would be pleased if we manage to sign Westbrooke.
Sounds like a good footballer who would fit in very well with the way Garner wants to play.
I assume he knows Johnson and Davies, not sure about Ogogo.
Most Coventry fans seem to think he's decent and would likely do well for us.
Was linked with a move to other Championship clubs but if he wants to be playing regularly maybe he's happy to stay in L1 for now. Bristol is also not too far from Coventry which may be factor.
As far as I can tell this is all just rumours and speculation at the moment so we'll just have to wait and see.

See that Sam Frosty has been asked by a few fans on twitter but hasn’t replied back yet.
Will be interesting to see what he replies back.
If he is active on twitter tomorrow but blanks the question I’m am hoping that like Ayunga he knows about it but has been told to keep quiet.
Still don’t quite believe it but messaged my mate at work who is a Coventry City fan and he has heard the news too and thinks its true but he thinks it will be a fee plus a sizeable sell on clause.

Why are Cov a fake big club before they got stitched by the Council/Wasps they've always had a decent size fan base, they are hardly MK Dons. Although you do wonder how many fans will turn up next season if they are ever allowed to watch games at St Andrews. Although Cov itself has become a god damn awful city with the Uni being the only redeeming feature. What makes them a big club? That one FA Cup 33 years ago? The fact that they have a decent-sized fanbase? Plenty of clubs (plenty in L1) fit that criteria too. You're right about the city though, awful sh*thole.

Maybe 33 years in the top division v 0 for rovers Fa cup winners v 0 for rovers. Played in europe v 0 for rovers Championship next season after 8 years out of that division v god only knows when we were last at that level.

Looks like we've got a lad on trial earmarked for the creative midfielder slot so I can't see us signing westbrooke. More chance of signing Daniella westbrooke for the creative midfielder role. What is it about us and Coventry players? I thought that link would've ended once GC packed his bags for field mill

They were easily miles better than us last season so why not sign players from them?

They were in the top flight uninterupted from 1967 until 2001. Thats quite some doing, when you consider Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, Villa, Leeds, Newcastle all got relegated from the top flight, and a few of them more than once in that time .

Tommy W set up the scouting and recruitment department at Coventry prior to joining us. He brought in virtually a squad’s worth of players there and left them with a database of several hundred more that he analysed and knew the strengths and weaknesses of...so some of the players they signed after TW left them were probably scouted by him too. On coming to Rovers he began setting up a similar database for us and no doubt he began populating it with individuals he had already performed the analysis of hence the strong Coventry connection at the moment.

I’m struggling to believe this one at all. The lad was valued at 2m only 7 months ago and wanted by big clubs like leeds and derby. Just been promoted to the championship, why on earth would he even want to think a about joining us.
Unless someone credible like frosty confirms it I won’t be getting my hopes up.

Cov in for Arsenal’s Ben Sheaf. Westbrooke would be a hell of a signing for us, he is that midfielder we have been missing. Plenty of scope for our coaches to improve his game as well. Cov seem to have a surplus of midfielders hence why he could be looking for another club in order to get the games he needs to progress his career. Him and Jack Bridge as back up would be impressive.

Coventry fans seem to think he is on his way, there is even speculation he is signing today and it will be announced tomorrow - we shall see. So far SN and ME are signings I didn't think we would be able to make, both are established players who I thought could aim higher than us. In the Covid era I guess Ben is out of the starting blocks quicker than other managers, regarding Zain believe it only when / if it is done and dusted

Didn't DC once say players will move anywhere for a fiver more, at the moment it seems only Blackpool and Rovers are signing players in L1, even the big boys are quiet.

It seems like we are capatilising on the current situation by being proactive in offering good players contracts. They may not normally have come here but there are players who just want the security of a contract etc. Despite the slight risk attached, I feel we have taken advantage of that and that's Kudos to Wael and the team.
