Apparently Manor Farm played another friendly on Saturday! I guess that explains the 12 noon kick off. Must have been tough going in that heat.

Unusual to play a team in the same league so early on in pre season. U23 development squad fixture that’s taking place behind closed doors at their training ground according to the Post. Wellens seemed to be talking about it as though it was a first team fixture.

Could be a good opportunity to play Bennett and make him look good and let Swindon see again what they are missing out on, if we want him to leave? 😂 More likely to put them off further!

Knowing Rovers, 3 months later comes back and bags a brace 😂

Bennett bagging a brace? Surely you can be even half serious?
Seriously however. I would rather he scored a couple against us with the proviso he was spending the entire season elsewhere.

From Swindon's website: "Richie Wellen's men will face the Championship side (Coventry) in SN1 for their third pre-season fixture following matches against Nuneaton Borough and Bristol Rovers U23's." So we're playing them somewhere this week!

I expect Rovers will have a fixture lined up every Saturday until the start of the season but the club won't announce who and where they are playing until close to the day so people aren't tempted to travel.

Why would any fan be tempted to travel knowing there's little chance of watching the game? Swindon have already announced on there website they are playing Coventry at home next Saturday, plus our U23's today.

I think you may underestimate the combination of 1. desperation to watch the Gas, and 2. low IQ levels, of a minority of supporters! I'm sure a handful of supporters would travel to try to watch the friendlies if given half a chance.

Why are their first team taking on our u23’s? They must be desperate for friendly fixtures.

Is it their first team against our U23s? Are we that good now?
