Nice half from JML, Little, Grant & much more to come from Westbrooke. JCH looks off the pace and Hargreaves shouldn’t be so high up IMO. Harries could do with stopping the constant long balls as well. Harries first two long balls were quality to Hargreaves's. Exeter drop back when he gets it now though, so he was just giving it to their centre backs. Needs to mix it up a bit. |

Harries could do with stopping the constant long balls as well. Apart from one lovely long ball early on, Harries' long passes have almost entirely given possession back to Exeter. I'd like to see us keep the ball better and build through the thirds. Not sure why he’s not just popping it short into Grant or Westbrooke and letting them build the play. Numerous times they’ve come short looking for it and Harries has lumped it over them. Hopefully something BG will address at HT. |

Very average so far. A few decent crosses in the opening minutes but other than that not to much on offer. Like the look of Grant so far, moves around the pitch kind of like Wijnaldum, obviously its early days but he shows good energy, tidy feet and pretty strong as well. JCH is cutting a frustrated figure though with some poor touches.

Thankfully the streaming has dramatically improved, we look quite neat an sweet on the ball often with good passing option but the final ball to JCH has been poor, he need much better service than this. ME and CH at the back both look solid.
All in all an even game.

Did anyone actually see the goal First goal was a bundled header from JML. Think it was Rodman with the cross that then got flicked on by an Exeter player. Second goal came from Nicholson running down the middle at the Exeter defence. Looked like he'd overran it, but Hargreaves nipped in with a good touch to give himself space for a great shot. |

I think we have to look at this game and see it for what it is ~ basically a training game with some new signings playing in the quarters for the first time ~ expect better as time goes on
