Just said in the other thread but think Healey would be good business - 21g in 42 MK games, solid return. Wouldn't be surprised to see a free agent like Hiwula join, or a loanee from the PL using BG's supposed 'contacts list' but think the latter is less likely given BG's desire to improve our own players instead of other teams'.
Could be worth a punt on Tyler Walker.

The 1 positive for me is I genuinely don't believe JCH suited how BG wants us to play. I think he would like a more mobile number 9 or maybe a false number 9. As good as JCH was, he wasn't very mobile. He's a player to build a team around.

Tyler Walker, Marcus Forss or Rhys Healey would be decent replacements as others have said.
Would like to see 2 of the 3 with at least one being a permanent deal.

Tshimanga and Healey... Not hiwula.. Not another Coventry lad... Please no Why not? We’ve done well out of JCH and most rated Tom Davies and Abu Ogogo even if the former has injury problems and the latter is being let go because he doesn’t match the managers plans. Most are excited to see Zain Westbrooke play competitively too.

I think Curo’s still got goals in the tank. Make the call Ben Squad size is also an issue here so i think it will be one replacement on a permanent and possibly a further striker on loan Over the last 9 months Outs upfront: Nichols Reilly JCH Deon Moore Adeboyajo Tyler Smith (Mensah, Ginelly) Ins: Daly Ayunga (Nicholson / JML) 4 out two in and they’re dirt cheap versus what we had before. For such an important position, we cannot take a risk. We should sign two and perhaps even a loan. I had a dream we sold Kyle Bennett to Swindon and woke up to find out we’d sold JCH.

Apparently (according to Twitter) Hiwula has signed for someone last night...didn's say who but it did state that Rovers weren't so interested in him any more. Healey looks like our target. Just watched a YouTube video of him last season. Got the skills of Billy B and the goals of the Snake. Really hope we get him.

It is very difficult to describe formations in the new era of fluid football but in my opinion, JCH looked a bit like a fish out of water when he was asked to play in the lone striker role. I am also not convinced that we played the most effective football with him playing that role as we still seemed fixated with pumping the "long ball" up to him (even in some of the recent friendlies). Now that JCH has gone, Garner has almost no option but to enforce his model of "fluid football" onto the entire squad. I am just praying that it works.

We seem to have treated the striker position almost as an after thought while we stocked up on defenders as part of turning’s Garner’s theories into reality. I don’t know what the thinking is behind our current striker strategy, scoring goals doesn’t seem to be part of it though. Maybe Garner thinks he can play with a false 9 and get all our goals from midfield with the strikers getting the occasional crucial goal. As promising as we looked in the second half on Tuesday with the youth on the pitch I’m sceptical to say the least about our lack of strength up front.

I wouldnt be biting your hand off through if any of the other players were "offered" back. I'm not worried about the perceived cheapness of the Daly and Anyonga. However- we do need 2 players. 1 with experience would be good.

I think we rarely had more than 4. For instance Reily and Adbayjedo were not in the same squad.

Whilst we all consider who we might sign to replace JCH, Martyn Starnes says on the club web-site *This should also be regarded as an opportunity for other players to come into the team to develop their own careers......". That sounds like we're signing nobody to me.

That sounds like we're signing nobody to me. I'd be absolutely amazed if we don't sign at least one striker with at least some experience of playing and scoring in league one.
We can't possibly be considering making do with Daly and Ayunga who have never played or scored in the football league.
The advantage in selling JCH now is we at least got a decent fee that should fund a replacement.
Rhys Healey (25) - 19 Goals in 37 L1 Appearances for MK Dons Marcus Forss (21) - 11 Goals in 18 L1 Appearances for Wimbledon Tyler Walker (23) - 14 Goals in 29 L1 Appearances for Lincoln
Other than their decent goal record in L1 I don't know much about them.
Are they similar to JCH or very different type of players?
Are all three realistic targets on a permanent deal?

Marcus Forss would be a good fit for us IMHO.

I don't know whether it's a realistic option or not, I don't know what his situation is at Forest at all, whether they think he will ever break into the 1st team or not etc But Tyler Walker has impressed me in the highlights i've seen of him, 26 goals in 52 for Mansfield and 16 in 34 for Lincoln in all Comps is a decent record. Would a bid for him be viable? That would be a tough one, Forest see him breaking into the first team this season, and want to keep him. Would be an exciting one if we could get him though.

Yes gasattack I’m the same. Don’t believe we’ve signed the quality players we have in defence and midfield to then go and leave ourselves short up front. We aim to be challenging in th stop half, I know no one has said that but the signings show that to be the intention imo. We’ve until 5th October when the window shuts so longer than usual to get the replacement. And remembering the threads on how Tommy W and his recruiting team go about business I think we will get someone in. UTG!
