For the sake of balance and some normality could someone please post something really negative?

Fair to say Ayunga needs some shooting practice. Another glorious chance missed, did really well once again up until the shot. Agree ~ Great prospect

So impressed with us, have watched every live stream possible and can see the progression in understanding in team shape.
The pressing tonight is the best I’ve seen it out of the games, in some of the others we’ve sat in a bit too much but tonight we are a world apart.
As I type this Ayunga misses another chance, genuinely think he’ll come good. Looks very lively, strong and gets in to great areas. His back to goal hold play could improve for a big lad but he’ll be a very good player.
Thought Baldwin was much better tonight and Upson has been a stand out for me in ball retention.
Zain Walker is first team ready. Really feel optimistic.

Our "weaker" side are literally out playing Cardiff now. I don’t mean to disparage but I do wonder if Garner has stumbled on this a bit by the way the youth played against Cheltenham. I’m sure he didn’t expect to be getting such a dynamic performance from the less experienced lads in the squad. Either way, it all seems encouraging. I’ll need convincing we don’t need a top class striker though Why wouldn't we sign a decent striker, not sure about a top class one, it's not like we're short of money.

Excellent £5 worth. All the players clearly buying into Garners system and have to say I have having seen that. I only hope some of the doom mongers on here can see quite clearly that the quality of his squad is far superior than anything we have seen for many years. I look forward to the new season with high hopes for something special.

Not suggesting we shouldn’t or settle for what we have but I like Ayunga, JML looked very lively and we still have Daly. Not suggesting we don’t get one but don’t think it’s as bad we think.

He's won the ball, played some great passes and looked really composed in the midfield for a youngster. Lots of hype for Hargreaves and rightly so but wouldn't surprised to see Mehew being a regular name in the match day squad soon too.

Laptop has cut out.
Very good, I have to be honest enjoyed the younger players playing more than the first team against Cheltenham and Cardiff. We have some talented youngsters.
There’s a but. I still think we need another two strikers. We can’t bank everything on JML and Ayunga. Not seen Daly recently but seems to me to be more of one for the future.
The other but is, and I’m sorry to say it, it’s a preseason game. Please don’t be starting any busses tonight as doing that is no better than writing the squad off on the basis of FGR.

Best pre season friendly I have seen in years and years. Very exciting quick and slick football. BG will have one hell of a problem picking a starting 11
Ayunga was very impressive to me. He won his fair share of headers against a very experienced professional in Flint and although he did miss a hat full, give him time and I am sure he will be a star. Just as well we won't be there to knock his confidence before he gets going.

Great to read, sounds like they all played well, Ben said he wanted two players for every position , a tidy striker and Rich s bus will be out of mothballs 😂

A pleasure to watch. Pity Ayunga didn't get at least one, but his all round play was impressive, rarely giving the ball away and getting in some great positions. Very encouraging from all 22 out there tonight. And from BG - so good to see a Rovers team with the confidence to pass the ball around. Whatever happens this season it will be an interesting journey...

Feels to me like Garnerball just ‘clicked’ for the first time tonight.
Some promising signs for sure - bring on the real stuff!

I get it’s “just” a friendly but thought every player did a great job,. was pretty impressed with Baldwin in the 1st half...and Leahy, Walker etc...but my stand out player is Harries from what I’ve seen of him, he has a composure and a maturity that is pretty impressive.

Worth every penny of the £5 I paid to watch that. Cardiff had two squads packed full of Championship regulars and we more than matched them tonight, maybe even bested them at times.
It looks like BG's coaching is starting to rub off on the players as we played football that was really pleasing on the eye but also had a bit of bite to it.
The likes of JML, Nicholson and Leahy impressed in the first half and Upson, Walker, Tutonda all played really well in the second, Rovers have a very talented squad by the looks of it.
Shout out also to youngsters in the second half, the likes of Mehew, Martinez, Tomlinson and Walker who were all excellent. The future is certainly bright.

I think we’ve put ourselves in a difficult position

Cheltenham was starting to look good, but this was even better. Confident on the ball and great high pressing. Great passing and movement from both our teams. None of them looked out of place. Could easily have been 3-2, or even 4-2, if we'd taken our chances. Get a replacement for JCH who buys into the BG style and we could well be challenging this season. However, this is Bristol Rovers.............

This strength in depth is going to be a real asset this season with the games coming thick and fast.
