Ipswich 6 -A poor display by Ipswich who were there for the taking. BG does not seem to know how to win football matches. BG may be the better coach but GC at least knew how to grind out results.

Jaakkola 7 a couple of good saves . i an not sure whether he was partly to blame for the second goal but yet again those in front of him should have done better. Kilgour 6.5 the best of the three centre backs. Ehmer 5 dreadful own goal and pulled out of position too many times. Harries 5.5 barely adequate. Little 6 a brilliant goal line clearance and generally a sound game. Grant 5 he just looks lightweight Upson 5 ring rusty Leahy 6 generally ok Westbrooke 6 some nice touches but nothing game changing Hanlan 6 he should have scored early on but a moments hesitation and a snatched shot didnt trouble the keeper' Mitchell-Lawson .5 contributed little Subs: Ayunga 5 came on too late and had no service or support. Daly 5 ran around a lot but not ready yet. Tutonda n.o.l.e. Ref 6 decent Ipswich 7 their manager saw what was needed, made the changed and deservedly won the game, our manager just made like for like and we deservedly lost the game end of. This team has relegation written all over it.JCH Rollin.Craig,Olly Clarke, Sercombe ,Ogogo have been replaced by young inexperienced lightweights I fear the worst.!!, |

Jaakkola 8.5 m o m Again saved us at least 2 times and his handling and distribution (an amazing throw into their half) makes me more confident this is fast becoming the best Keeper we've owned this millennium.
Kilgour 5 apart from one stand up to the run of Sears, I thought a poor game by his standards.
Ehmer 4 I'm sorry, I don't know what he brings to the team. Seems to me slow and ponderous.
Harries 5 struggling to remember a contribution?
Little 6.5 I thought a poor match, but he did do another goal line clearance which was sublime.
Grant 5 tried but difficult to see what he done.
Upson 5.5 one shot of note from distance, but a shocking challenge for yet another booking. Is ogogo really worse?
Leahy 6.5 I thought useful on left going forward, set up a nice move by a pass into middle and crossed nicely but no one there. Defensively sound.
Westbrooke 7 composed and tried to pick his passes.
Hanlan 6 not his fault, miniscule support, the one half chance that fell to him whilst he thought was offside is forgivable but offered not much else to compensate. Formation doesn't help him.
Mitchell-Lawson 4 was he there?
Subs: Ayunga 4 again the timing of subs gave him little chance to make impact.
Daly 4 what did he do?
Tutonda 4 I like him, but he isn't employed efficiently.
Ref 8 didn't notice anything glaring in mistakes he made. Unnoticeable. Nice.
Ipswich 7 some nice moves and pace (like a few weeks ago) moving forward, they can flit between direct attacks to patient build up, but we done nothing to push them as defensively they were caught out twice - and we had no one to be ruthless enough to take advantage of it. They aren't as good as we made them look by our set up, and we could have worked harder to get a very different result but submitted too easily on home turf..
Not good enough.

At the moment it appears to be all about shape rather than actually constructively delivering a performance that might challenge the opposition defence. 5 attempts in the match shows we’re not creating enough against an ipswich team that was content to just soak it up for the first hour. |

Jaakkola 7. Two good stops but couldn’t do anything with either goal
Kilgour 4. Not the Kilgour we saw last season. Distribution was awful.
Ehmer 4. Gave away needless fouls and terrible defending for the own goal.
Harries 4. Not offered much help from Leahy, often up against 2 men.
Little 5. Good defensively, great goal line save. Offered nothing going forward.
Grant 3. Game passed him by. Forgot he was playing.
Upson 4. Another yellow. Game passed him by also.
Leahy 3. Disappointing after last week Offered nothing defensively or attacking
Westbrooke 4. Looked lost out on the right. Clearly not his position.
Hanlan 4. Terrible miss early on, needs to do better. No service didn’t help.
Mitchell-Lawson 3. Didn’t get into the game. Forgot he was playing.
Subs: Ayunga NOLE brought on to late
Daly NOLE brought on to late
Tutonda NOLE again brought in to late
Ref 6. Fair, wasn’t helped with a few throw in and corner decisions be linos.
Ipswich 5. Didn’t think they were any better than us tbh, got the win though.

He should do and looks to have a good touch in his first game for us but was definitely overweight Is he strong enough physically to bolster the midfield? I don’t think so. Creatively maybe if he plays in the middle and can then spread the ball around. Daly looked like a Reilly type player when he came on? I wasn’t sure about our euphoria pre season wrt signings and commentated whether we are making signings for the sake of it or for the right reasons? We have too many midfielders in our squad but no midfield? So far, early days granted, but I fear for our season with this squad? Just a question; apart from Jakkola who stands out in this squad from the ordinary L1/2 player? Do we have individuals who are willing to go for it, like Ollie or Linesy? I don’t think so based on what I have seen? Who do you see on the pitch trying to pull the players up? No Lee Browne type aggressiveness? UTG |

My own opinions on the game:
Jaakkola 7.5 Couple of good saves showed his worth again
Kilgour 4 Felt he was left exposed at times, but a poor game regardless
Ehmer 3 Pushed up quite a lot which either gave away a foul or left the other two CBs to cover. Poor own goal as well
Harries 4 Good physicality but woeful distribution (even when passing short)
Little 6.5 Decent game to be honest, extra half mark for the vital goalline clearance
Grant 4 Anonymous at times, but noticeably poor at others
Upson 4.5 Tried a bit more to get on the ball but partly at fault for the second goal
Leahy 5.5 Not too troubled defensively, a couple of nice passes going forward
Westbrooke 6 Hard to mark as he looked good on the couple of occasions where he popped up in the middle, but wasted as a wide forward
Hanlan 5 Needed to take his chances better but not helped by quality of service
Mitchell-Lawson 4 Not in the game and went down easily when in a good position
Subs: Ayunga NOLE
Daly NOLE
Tutonda NOLE
Ref 8 Couldn't really fault him for much
Ipswich 6.5 Patchy but better than us and deserved the win (interesting to note the number of times they were caught offside)
