It's called advertising and it's something we dont do! Barely 100metres from the Memorial Gates? I’d call that acting like the pathetic parasites that they are.

Blinder from the betting company. Teds share it online to mock us. We get outraged and share it ourselves. Local media pick up on it. By lunchtime everyone in Bristol has seen it.
Anyway, don't we have a League position to worry about?

When the Gas Girls returned the promo vid had one of them doing keepy uppies in front of Trashcan. Most people on both sides of the river saw the funny side. Don't see this as different although as it's fixed it'll probably get vandalised pretty quick. For all we know someone got given x amount of posters to put up and done this one for a giggle. Who wouldn't do the same if the boot was on the other foot This was the reply that came to my mind. We’ve done similar in the past. Just take it as football banter. No need to be so outraged IMO. Life’s too short.

Couldn't care really, can keep telling themselves they are the one team in Bristol. All childish bollocks really.

Yeah it makes me laugh, I always find it funny how much they actually hate us, it’s laughable. Scratch under the surface and us and them aren’t actually that different, they’ve just had a billionaire bankrolling them in recent times. Oh and they’re a massive bunch of inbred wrong’uns.

Not a clever ad, just alienating a lot of people. **** poor bit of marketing.

To be honest putting the "one team in Bristol" nonsense inside I think the bigger issue is there are now adverts on every other bus stop shoving gambling on your face. The adverts also have the rugby and basketball team's badges on too which really isn't a good look when online gambling is such a massive ongoing problem.

Who wouldn't do the same if the boot was on the other foot The gasgirls did well first time round playing in the top flight and cup finals. In the mean time bristol city ladies struggled a division below . They got disbanded. They then became partnered with filton college. Rovers couldn't afford a womens team . Bristol city then partnered the college and finally took the now renamed and rekitted team. Bcfc literally bought a top flight team as their own attempt failed. The new returned gasgirls video was making a point . The new team properly financed will get back where the team were before and knock the franchise team off its perch.

You almost wonder if they hope it gets vandalised so they can look down their noses .... Bottom line the poster and the place shows there is not one team in Bristol and little old Bristol Rovers are still something that worries our red friends.
In other news I saw there was a list of the worst places in Bristol and most of them were South of the River.

I'm torn whether pro sportspeople should be role models or not but they certainly shouldn't be advertising gambling. May as well stick a L&B in each of their mouths, not a good look once you understand the depth of issue gambling causes.

Don't know how to post a photo on my phone on here but to go with the posters on every single bus stop I've just had a Mansion Bet letter through my door encouraging me to have a bet. It's covered with the same slogans and photos as the bus stop posters. It's addressed to "the occupier" so I'm assuming thousands of these have been sent out. It's quite frankly a disgrace that this firm combined with a 38 year old franchise are pushing gambling so hard when many people are both struggling with money and have a lot of free time on their hands.

Look, they are lady gardens and I hate them with a passion, but were we not Sponsored by 2 betting companies recently?
I know a few of us raised concerns then too but there seems to be a lot of moral hand wringing going on when the truth is they are just marketing their franchise very well.

While I don't disagree sending out letters encouraging people to bet during the current climate is at best an error of judgement. It was just a brown plain envelope so someone struggling with a gambling addiction would have no idea what it was until they opened it and then you've got a gambling offer shoved in your face.

This is literally on every other bus stop going up Gloucester Road through Bishopston, Horfield and Filton. I was in Town on Saturday and its on every bus stop going around Broadmead and Cabots Circus.
We tried something similar at the start of last season with posters advertising our season tickets. Every one of them that I seen had graffiti over it or chunks had been ripped off. We went cheap and used stuck on posters. They lot got the protection glass over them.

As I religiously follow BRFC, can I report these posters as a “hate crime”, or at least a CAOP (crime against older people)? 😉
